convertible top closes but doesnt open

Exactly my thinking. I'm sure that price is for the switch and plunger assembly, if all that's bad is the switch, a bit of DIY would save a heap.

You KNOW the switch itself is generic, just some spst, spring-loaded, piece of Chinese-made-radio-shack-quality.

Here is a closer look at the switch and a ghetto way to keep the trunk open

Online parts warehouses for electronic items - you can Google them. MINIMAL tech support, all they do is sell parts,but 'cause of that, they are CHEAP!
