The steering wheel (beige) is starting to show signs of wear ( 75k ) I understand that there is a leather dye that can correct this problem. Anyone know where this can be obtained ?

 

Our grey wheel is showing signs of wear, too. Is there, perhaps, a leather kit?

All of the vanilla wheels seem to do this. There's a nice one that has an installation video for stitching it on - it's pretty quick and easy and gives a factory like appearance - very nice. I ordered the cream coloured one - Fits Chrysler Crossfire 03 07 TOP Quality Dark Grey Leather Steering Wheel Cover | eBay and it's great.

For those interested in a solution to the wheel problem, I found the answer. I bought a Dye colorant from "Leather World" that matches the interior perfectly. The have a web site where you can look up colors by make and model. Wheel came out perfect. Like new. Dye cost me $24 for 8 oz bottle.

Bobby117, how about a color or part number - please. Leather World said they do not have a match for the Vanilla leather. I really do not want to add a cover, the wheel is large enough as it is.

I am using #1466 I suggest you look at their colors for the Mercedes and see if the color matches. Bob

Bought the Cleaner and dye 4166. Did a small test and it does not match. Color is to tan, it is not cool vanilla.

 

We had the same problem with our '05 in cream, except the leather was worn rough when my wife tried to clean it. So I found a $10 Chinese leather one on eBay that matches the charcoal grey of the dash pretty well. It was a real bear to stitch on but looks really nice after spending 2+ hours on it. Too bad I hadn't seen this first, it would have been worth the extra $20. Might still.

 

Has anyone checked into leatherique? They have restoration dyes and their off-white seems close to the "Cool Vanilla" Chrysler identifies as the interior color of my 2006 limited roadster. I'm asking them to verify or offer their suggestions as my wheel has lost its color on the surface ridge, otherwise it is fine.

 

Wife found a cover for her roadster (cool vanilla interior) at Autozone that has silver and grey design.. goes quite well with the interior.
