That's hard to find, even here. Replacement and repairs of that cable have been discussed, but only maybe three times in the eleven years I've been here.
Go to Google and put in "Chrysler Crossfire tonneau flap cable" and there will be at least five threads here that come up.
Look at each one. That's the best I think we can do, unless the particular person(s) who have experience with this pop up.
Also, there is SOME information in the 2008 service manual (the 2005 seems a bit thin on convertible top service information).
I have an electronic copy of the top section I think I might be able to email you.

Re: Procedure to access (REPLACE) side fLap CABLE
2005 shows it as manual top down procedure nothing else, Internet not any better. Ye if you could email that, I would appreciate it POETS today one twice Va Wound Care(d), and the other POETS rear window separation repeat(s). Missing s in CROS?FIRE Both POETS needing fixed up. 2005 POETS duet anew an American midlife Chrysler Crossfire convertible (No missing S) crisis Dream
I had a problem a few years ago where my cable froze and would not retract the flap all the way. I ended up replacing both cables but I don't believe they are available any longer. This is the part number 05140962AA. As Pizzaguy stated, both sides are the same, so you should be able to look at the one that is working to see how it is attached to the flap or the hydraulic cylinder. I'm not sure how it could just fall off as there are torx screws that hold the cable receiver to the flap. the cable is attached to the tonneau cover hinge with two zip ties and then runs to the hydraulic cylinder. if you take the trunk fender liner out you will see the cable and how it connects to the cylinder. Hopefully the link Pizzaguy provided to the top manual section will help.

Re: Procedure to access (REPLACE) side fLap CABLE
End came off one end. I have other side out to spec out, found cable 1/4 shorter have swage fitting coming in. I will swage it to dimensions on good side. After install I can fine tune it at flap side.
Trying to get Marine or bike shop to swage new fitting to 1/16" or 1.6 cable
My cables froze up, hence the need to replace them. So regardless of the cable fix/replacement, be sure and get a can of cable lube and a lube tool that fits over the cable and oil it until it comes out the opposite end before installing.
I tried swageing one once - total failure.
Sourced a replacement from a guy that was parting out a roadster.
It was not so long ago that swagged cables were on every aircraft, done well they last a long, long time.
You need a good machine to do it and the correct fittings that can be swagged. I have seen it done at an aircraft factory.

I don't know if it sent or not, 8mg is a big file.
pizzaguy,
I was able to purchase two side flab cable assemblies.
I need to replace the broken cable on my left side!
can you direct me to a website that shows how to install new cable?
If you did not get pizzaguy's file...you can get to the cable routing by removing the fender liners in the trunk. You will need to take off the liner at the back, where the trunk light is, first then the fender liners can be removed. There is 6+ push pins that hold them to the fender. Threre are zip ties that hold the cable to the tonneau arm, as I recall, then you will see where it connects to the respective hydraulic piston. They are the same on connection and routing on either side. You will also have to unbolt the cable connection from the tonneau flap when you replace them. Take pics as you go so reassembly is easier. Good luck!
pzzaguy,
Thanks for your response. I did it. I installed a new cable and it went quite well. However, my top still does not function.
Contrary to you advice and warning, I took my Crossfire to a Chrysler Dealer as I found out they had a mechanic that had a DRB 3 Scanner tool.
This is suppose to be the only scanner tools that could diagnose problems in Crossfires. I was told that my problem was the broken flap cable. They fixed NOTHING, and my lesson learned cost me $556.00. I can hear you saying, Dumb ***, why din't you listen to me????
I want to check the Tonneau cover lock to see if it ins function properly, but not sure how to do it. If I knew it was bad, I could get a reconditioned one from Top Hydraulics.
Fortunately, the car runs great and I have enjoyed many miles of driving it. I keep it in the garage at all times so no need to put the top up as I only drive it in dry weather.
At 85 years old, it surely gives me a project to continue pursuing. Maybe by luck, someday it just may start to function.
Thanks again for your responses. Don't go away as you are the best source us fellow Crossfire owners have available.
