Default Roadster roof won’t finalize

Ladies and gents, Im a newbie to the forum and a newbie Crossfire owner as well ... here’s the issue ... the roadster’s roof goes up and down fine ... but when I close the roof and reattach it with the D-ring securely, the little red switch light stays on ... and, the trunk won’t open either ... as if the car thinks I have not shut the top with the D-ring ... I cycled the roof several times, same thing ... and, when the roof is down, the trunk opens fine ... my fear is Im not securing the D-ring properly to the windshield, or somehow I have damaged a sensor along the way ... I thought I would ask here first before I took it to a garage ... any ideas? Or can someone point me to a related post?

"Roof won't finalize" - the terminology is "when putting the top up, the cycle won't complete, but it does complete when putting top down."

And that leads to two 'most likely' suspects in my mind, so:

Put top up.
Put windows up.
Turn D handle - if the windows do not go down, the switch in the frame is bad. If the windows DO go down, my guess would be the travel sensor on the bow latch cylinder, that is adjustable*, and has caused this before.

*I swear it is adjustable, but I may be wrong. It may be that the sensor is just BAD.

If I do take it in, I will give this info to the mechanic, who is a good guy ... he doesn't charge exorbitant rates ...

I did the test ... repeat, I did the test ... top up, windows up, turned D handle -- windows did not move ... I guess it must be the switch in the frame ... any idea how much those cost? ... will have a look on Mopar parts ...

I do not believe they are any longer available. E-bay or salvage yard.

Try posting under WTB, maybe someone on the forum has one they are willing to part with?

See how easy it is when you DO IT YOURSELF? No 'mechanic' and damn few dealers would have made it this far, this fast.

The switch in question is referred to as the "Latch Retainer Switch".
A good familiarization thread on the top sensors is here: https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...p-sensors.html
