Picked up a roadster with a non-working top. Ran it thru manually and thanks to this forum started troubleshooting. Knew the first thing that should happen was the windows should go down and they did not so I assumed it was a latch switch issue. Checked the latch switch and it was good. Checked if the catch hook was within spec and it was not. Adjusted the catch hook and now the top goes down with the button all the way until you get the chime that it is complete.

Issue now is the top still won't even start to go up.
Push the up button and nothing. No windows lowered no flashing light no beeps. I can raise it manually and then it will close with the button, but it still will not open.

I thought if the top goes down the safety switches would be working. Is there something I am missing?

 

Changed out the switch in the console and I now have a top that goes both up and down.

 

It is NEVER that switch, I think this is a first in the fourteen years I have been here. Most common is where the top won't do DOWN but will go UP, this is usually the divider switch but it can be the top open switch - they are only checked when putting the top DOWN, not UP.
