Just saying Hi.
Hi.
Waiting fro delivery of my SRT-6 Roadster on Wednesday, can't wait.
Couple of questions...
How long do I need to run it in for?
Is there any other UK based forum members?
Is there anything else I should know to make my first week of ownership easier?

Congrats,
Avoid redlining it for the first 1,600 km or so. Change the oil after that. I feel that one should try to keep it below 2,000 rpm until it reaches operating temp, which is halfway point on the temp gauge.

Since the Crossfire uses 0w40 weight synthetic motor oil, that means it's pretty much like water when you start the car up. Personally I think you can drive it as you normally would, even before it reaches normal operating temp. But of course, I'd still be gentle with it while building up speed.
I'm a firm believer in changing the oil and filter more often than the book recommends, and I think that it is even more important with the SRT-6 than it is with the standard engine like I have. But some people would argue that fact. Use your best judgment and let your style of driving, be the determining factors.
I wish I could join you in an SRT purchase, because they are selling over here at unbelievable low prices, and I'd like to get a new one while there are still some left. But I just can't afford one now.
Good Luck with yours!

There are a quite a few UK members here but I think most of them just lurk in the background.
In terms of running it in I would just take it easy for the first 1,000 miles or so and keep an eye on all the levels. Other than that I wouldn't really worry too much. I was running mine (non-SRT) on trackdays after 1,000 miles and drive it quite hard (but sympathetically!) every day and not had any issues at all. These are very well engineered cars! Just get on and enjoy the ride.
Cheers for the replies. Yes, cant wait until Wednesday, its dragging. I haven't seen an SRT either. I test-drove a roadster and decided I wanted one, but needed more power coming from an S2000 so decided to get a SRT. I believe I have only seen two or three Crossfires in total, which was what I liked about the S2000 when I got it, but its becoming a little common now.
