It's not stainless and it won't fit in the center line of our cars, the 2-3/8" duals must be on 3-3/8 center and the output is 2-3/4 OD with total length not to exceed 6-1/2" to clear the rear differential.

You will have to mount it where the resonator was and cut and fit more pieces to make it work. But mild steel is a low cost alternative.

This is what i worked on yesterday at my shop. The noise is not bad from under 2800rpm. WOT sounds just like a 350z with exhuast!! IMO. There are a few rpms from idlel to 300rpm that have a drone to them. All in all, not bad. I do like the tough sound i have.

I cut out the rear cats, and resonator. All aluminized Steel and mandrel bends, fully TIG Welded.

Performance, was a bit weird, i think it had some more throttle response and a hair more on the big end. mid range is about the same. IMO. I believe with the pulley and ecu, i will see all the exhaust gains.

I have modified my airintakes, K&N's, ported and polished my Throttle body and upper intercooler plenums, and added bigger tires in the rear. I have more pics of the calipers i coated and tires if peeps want to see.

i am not sure why you say it sounds like a 350z, but I did the same thing and it is a huge improvement over stock, but still not loud enough for my liking... I think it could be vastly improved on...

Yeh, a 350z w/exhaust, has that european sound, which i love. When it is WOT, it is pretty loud. All in all, i am happy with the mod, and can't wait for the pulley and ecu. I am starting to build a twin-into-single 3" cold air intake. I should have all the parts middle of next week. I will take some more pics again!!

With the windows up and radio chillin, you only hear the exhaust notes right before it shifts under normal driving.

Great work. It's good to see someone taking the hands on approach.

Where can I find the pictures of calipers and larger tires? (I'm thinking about doing 285/30 in the rear, but don't know about the look or rubbing issues.)

Thanks!

I think these cars sound like a mix between a lambo and 350Z with the resonator removed. It's a very distinct sound...

Question: Does it make a difference which set of CATS you remove? I mean wouldn't it make more sense to ditch the ones closest to the motor/tranny to reduce heat and keep the ones in rear for emissions compliance/visual inspection? I know they have to heat up to work properly, so it would take longer for the rears to heat up, but would it still work? The rear cats look larger (more flow??) and it might make a later header install easier. Would it throw a code since the O2 sensor is right there by the front cats if they were removed? If so, could you move the O2 sensors closer to the rear cats to eliminate the CEL?

Thanks,
KrzyFast

Removing the Front cats will cause the check engine light to go on, removing the rear cats will not...

i understand what your saying. i guess you could use o2 extensions to move the secondary o2 sensors to the back of the rear cats...but why?

my question is will o2 simulators work on this car. if so ill ditch both sets of cats. do any of you mbworld guys know?

Ditto, Please post a clip of the SRT stock exhaust with resonator removed, if possible.

Has anyone near Denver done this? I'd like to meet up and hear the system in person.
