Yep, sure am ashamed of my SRT6! Man it's just surprising how the addition of a little engine badging to create a subtle link to MB creates such a stir of emotions.

Here's a emblem on EBAY that's sure to be controversial.

I think it stands for, "A Mercedes Chrysler".

Yup, it does! & they were All made in Kenosha, Wisc when I lived there.
or maybe, 'A Mutant Crossfire'.

What did you custom paint on the Emblem?
I purchased it from Dan Root - the emblem comes black with the artwork/lettering lazer etched clear and I painted the clear areas with silver, gold and red with model paint and the aero blue with Chrysler touch up paint.

Dan has several models to choose from.

For +fireamx, I think AMC means always making changes.

I took the car out today because the roads were fairly clean, the sun was out, and it was cold enough that the snow wasn't melting all over. Man, the SSB sure does look nice in the bright sunlight!! Oh, and the Kompressor badges look awesome! They don't look tacky at all. I was a bit worried, but I'm keeping them for now.

The only badges I am considering adding are the SRT 6 badges to the fender. Just like they did for the ultra rare '06 model.

The cars deserve a Karmann badge more than an MB badge since Karmann not only built the car but had a major part in the engineering and mechanical design as well.

I was really happy to see how many SRT 6 owners are proud to drive an SRT 6 and don't feel it's necessary to say "Look, I swear, there's MB parts under the hood!"

Be proud that you have a product from the Street Racing Technology division of Chrysler (remember, the Crossfire was the first car to get the SRT badging) and with the new Challengers coming out, everyone is going to know that SRT means it must be fast.

I read the entire threat. Very interesting and its provide a deep inside into the human nature.
How about showing off by adding add. badges creating a link to emphasize that the Crossfire is not really a Chrysler debadging it? Even removing the wing on the SRT.
That is what I have done and now I am sailing under the "notice" and bragging right horizon like "stealth"
I did the same to my BMW M5 and love it.

Are you going to fill in the indentation after you've removed the back wing?

I went debadge-crazy a few months ago and now have that left over indentation in the trunk lid.

I've been quoted $800 to fill with bondo and re-paint. Let me know if you're going to do the same thing and/or found a cheaper route or body shop.

thanks.

Dude, not sure what you are quietly trying to imply, but if this uninformed comment was directed at me, maybe you should have read the entire thread. If you had done so, you would have seen that I very proudly display that my car is from SRT, hence my license plates and all original badging. I'll say it again because it seems as though some people are too lazy to read threads before making uniformed comments. I added the very nice and understated MB badges to tie together the SRT and AMG heritage that lies beneath the car. I have no need to shout to the world, "Hey look at me, I really have a Mercedes..." I am simply a car guy who enjoys the fact that two great performance divisions created a nice car.

For XFIREVAN: I am ashamed, that's for sure.

Those badges were made for a Mercedes SLK 32 and belong on a Mercedes SLK 32.

To each their own, that's why this country is free. They look good, match the internals, and come right off when I get bored with them. Hmmm, maybe next I'll get some AMG badges! They make the car look more expensive than it is and add a few more horsepower too, because that's what I'm going for! Actually, I'll just steal my fiance's SL55 AMG badges, I'm sure she won't mind!

I do.

I plan to skin (sheet metal) the entire trunk lid and then re-paint and clearcoat. I think Bondo will just bust out or crack in time. Treat it like a rust restoration on a 55 chevy fender.

I'll do the skin ($60) and purchase the paint ($50), I already have a pint of clearcoat and then have a friend squirt the color. I'll have him hit the door handles and windshield surrounds at the same time.

CLEAN & SANO !!!!

It is an very easy fix. I replaced the entire hatch with one from a crashed XFire limited same color! Now I can swap it back if I want too to keep its original look!
