I'm sooo close!
Well, I've been waiting about three months now for my Srt6 executive lease car to be turned in so I could tag it and bring her home. Today was the day! I received a phone call saying the car was turned in with 11,000 miles on it. I immediately bail from work to go sign the paper work at the chrysler lease center and then the vehicle must be processed through a dealership. When I get there they tell me that the vehicle was turned in with a scratch on one of the rims and a slit in the tire. For this reason they would not certify it as a certified chrysler used vehicle. Which means I loose all the benefits that go along with that including the 8yr/80,000 drivetrain warranty. WHAT! For a scuffed tire. Even if I replaced the wheel and tire though the dealer before taking posession of it they would not certify it. I was told that because the car is an 05 for $150 I could transfer the remainder of the 3yr/36,000 to a 7yr/70,000 through the dealership but when I spoke to the dealership they made about 20 phone calls and then informed me that the warranty was not transferable because the vehicle is an SRT6. Any advice? Has anyone heard of a XF not being elegible for an extended warranty because it's an SRT6? This is really putting a damper on my excitement.

The SRT6 is just eligible for the 3/36. They will not give 7/70.. I was told due to high performance vehicle. It's not you. You should be able to get any remaining, being second owner.
You need to look at the in service date. 05 to 08 = 3yrs. You may be better off taking the $150 and buying an extended warranty. I bought mine from Chrysler Dealer. They were cheaper than third party. Most dealerships hate third party warranties. IMO..

Thanks for the info guys. I read into some other threads on the warranties and from what I understand the car never would have been elegible for the 8/80 even if they certified it and just to clearify it was the Chrysler marshalling center where the executive and fleet vehicles are processed that would not certify mine. Not the dealership. I will probably proceed with the deal. The reason I was after this specific vehicle is because I know the person who drove it and the history of how it was maintained. Plus, I don't think I can just run out and find another SRT6 with 11,000 miles on it for $18,000.

1) SRT6 can get the 8/80, I just had mine Certified on 11/24/07 w/Chicago Dealer & the 8/80 Bumper to Bumper zero deduct, I've got the Letters back from Chrysler also stating the same.
2) Mine was a Chrysler Excutive Lease also and had 4350 miles on it.
3) How many months warranty is left on the SRT6?
4) Does it have Nav?
5) I'm selling mine with the above, less "8/80 Bump/Bump w/$0") for $21,777, but I have several buyers already.
6) For a few extra $1,000, I would want the 8/80 PowerTrain & Rental Car
benefits, see CoupeGirl's threads on her engine replacement, etc.
Just my 2 cents worth.
Good luck with whatever you decide!
My Best,
Bill (SilverFox)

Isn't networking great! I made a phone call to someone I know at chrysler last night and he said he had a few contacts he would call to see if they could help out and like magic I received a call this morning telling me the car was certified and now with the purchase I will receive the 8/80 with the roadside assistance and everything else that goes along with the certification at no additional charge! I guess it's not what you know but who you know that knows somebody else. Now I'm feeling a lot better about this. Pick the car up tomorrow!!!!

Two words.. "Personal preferrance" They don't want to help you if they don't have to. They might be able to talk you into beleiving they are unable to help but thats not always true. Sounds like you need to play ball with them. Ask to see that policy in writting. If they cannot provide that in writting then you win. They will be forced to see it your way. If they do provide that on paper, then go to your lawyer and have him take a look at it. It may be a bunch of crap they made up to make you go away. WHen the Mitsubishi EVO came out it had no warranty. Turns out they changed their mind on that and now provide one for it. If you do your home work you can get great grades. Or in this case a great car. Good luck It really sounds like they are looking for a loophole to not provide you with what the car should come with. You have to look at it this way, if you stood before a judge would he see it your way or theirs? I know they have to run a business but they also have to provide service for that business to work. Maybe the rim "scrape" is really a gash that has messed up the structure of the rim where it might fail. In that case I would agree with them. However if its normal ware then they might loose from that side. Ok spelling bad on this one. GOOD LUCK!

Yes, this forum is great. I haven't been posting but I've been viewing for a while and I already have an overload of XF info from here. I have learned the value of these forums with other vehicles I own. Nothing like knowledge sharing between people who actually own and use the product.
My car is a 2005 Black SRT6 coupe W/Nav Don't have the build # with me right now but I'll post all the info when I pick it up.
I'm trying to arrange to pick it up tomorrow but my schedule is a bit crazy this week so it may not happen until monday. I've already neglected too much stuff trying to work this deal out this week.
