Out of 30 slip's if I recall correctlly I had 3 - 1.7's & around 12 to 15 - 1.8's and then there was this one with a 3.6 with a 10.3 ET @ 109.13. this is when the left lane was screwing up and RIOT had a 1.5 60' the run before of after this slip.

I am jealous, I need to get me a set of those. It sounds like the brand you have is the way to go. Hoosiers right?

Definitely go Hoosier! I swear by them as I have them on both my race cars and the 60's are super consistant. If I were to go DR's on the crossfire, I would go hoosier without a doubt.

Yeah, those Hoosier's really stick. I don't know what size Hoosier's distantpulse is running, but mine are 275/40/18's they are less than a 1/4" shorter than the OEM 255/35/19's. I wish I could have went with the 315's witch was the next step up, but they required at least a 10" wheel.

The hoosiers are not street legal, correct? I know they are DOT tires but that is just so you can race in that class. Do you just bring your wheels/radials to the track and swap them out there? I did that with my last car and it sucked hauling them around since I live 2+ hours from the nearest track

I just got my ECU back from LET last night and I am hoping to get to the track tonight. The weather sounds the same as a couple of weeks ago when I went (about 80 degrees for a high today) so it will be a good comparison of before and after tune. I do have the colder pulgs in now too, so that is a variable. But other than that it is the SL55 intake system, LET tune and 181 pulley. I have to get back to the dyno too.

They are not street legal, but I asked one of the tech's at Hoosier tire if it would cause excess wear on them to drive 30 mile's to a track round trip and he said no it would not. He said he could not legally tell me that they were safe to drive on the road, but if I choose to just don't make fast turns or run high rate's of speed. I've only been to the track once and I hauled the tire's & put them on when I got there. I'm in the same boat as you, closest 1/4 mile track around 2 hour drive. There is an 1/8th about 15 mile's from me witch I do plan on going to in the fall when I have some time.

Damn! That's a great deal on the Code3 pulley. I wish I would have waited a month to get mine. Oh well, that was 30 more days I got to drive around smokin tire.

It is a good deal but even if I would have known about the sale I would not have waited!

Here are a couple more time slips, as you can see both cars are close. I am car 17 and Steve is 19. He was running DR's and I was running and road racing P-zero. Make your own call, both work well, one just cost a whole lot more.

I agree with you Eric about being close, but I do think the 178 crank pulley does perform better than the code 3 S/C pulley. Our cars have totally different mod's beside's the pulley's though, so it would be hard to back that up. I've posted more than once that we ran several times together and we ran pretty well side by side. But once my HE temp gauge got up into the 120's I started slowing down and getting into the higher 12's. That was because I was going right back to the line right after a run and not letting the car cool down, I have 34 slip's to prove that. I think I only stopped to let the car cool down one time besides when we all stopped for lunch.

[Edit] Actually you have a few more mod's than do, all I have is the RENNtech kit & the SL55 "Y"
Code 3 Heat Exchanger

Code 3 Phenolic Spacers
Water/Meth
E85 conversion from Fuel Flex International

Well something fun came out of me having to work an extra day on Saturday. A new Code3 pulley . I love overtime. Now I get to sit and wait on the mailman.

How do you know if your car has the larger crank pulley ?

I see some debate over the pulleys, what diameter is the Code3 ?

With the 20% off, is it worth getting the Performance Supercharger Pulley and the Intake mod package (package gives a $50 discount + the 20% off, comes to $599 shipped). How easy is it to install the pulley and intake mod ?

Also are the Phenolic Spacers worth the $$ ?

I haven't bought my SRT yet, but this looks like a nice deal and there's a nice group buy going on with a good CIA. With the Code3 pulley & intake mod and CAI package, it seems this would be a nice start on performance enhancements. Should bump the engine to over 400hp at the crank if the numbers add up for under $1000 if you do the install yourself (seems like it would make sense to do it all at once).

Thanks,
Brian

I thought about buying one and sent that Aaron an email asking a few questions a couple of days ago, but never got a response .

Are there any dyno graphs out there with A/F? I have seen the hp/tq numbers and it seems this pulley makes good power everywhere, but I want to know how safe it is. If this pulley puts the A/F at low 12s on a warm day (just a guess) then how lean is it going to get in colder weather? Its always nice to make more power, but how safe is it on a stock car (or one with just an intake) without a tune? Can anyone answer this?

Brian,
Im running an aftermarket crank pulley. It's 178mm opposed to the stock 156mm. The install for the intake is cake. Although I don't have the SC pulley, i hear that is pretty easy as well. I would get the pulley+Intake+Tune and you will be around 400hp at the crank

Just for reference, I'm sure you could email Aaron at Code3, and they shouldn't have a problem giving you the discount even if you order now. It never hurts to ask.

I can't produce A/F curves along with the dyno for you, but current general consensus is that a tune should not be required for the Code3 pulley. It is smaller than the 178mm crank pulley, and neither of them need a tune, even though they would both make hp gains with one.
