SRT-6 Newbie Questions
Alright, so I picked up a relatively high mileage (58k) SRT-6 recently for around $13k. These forums have been a great resource so far, but I had some questions that maybe some can answer:
1) What are your experiences with the various bolt-on's regarding warranty issues? I picked up a Code 3 pulley and a Needswings CAI. I'm sure they'd have an issue with the pulley (which is a quick swap from what I can tell), but has anyone had issue with dealers and a CAI swap?
2) On the Code 3 Pulley: Mine didn't seem to come with a set of spacers as indicated in the install guide (that I could only find on this site - thanks). I noticed some other people who purchased recently weren't getting the spacers as well. Is this an issue, or did they just re-engineer it so it really doesn't need them anymore?
3) Does anyone have an idea to the life expectency of the supercharger, or other sensitive systems? With my mileage (around 61k now), what should I keep a lookout for?
4) On emissions: How bad is it with the Code 3/NW CAI combo? Would an ECU tune hurt or help in that regard? Will it run rich or lean (I've heard both so far, it seems)?
5) With the Tranny: Occasionally it gets hung up in first gear on a strong launch (traction control is off), and I have to back off a moment (1/2 second perhaps) for it to get its bearings. Is this somewhat normal behavior from these trannies in your experiences?
Thanks in advance for the help.

2 spacers will depend on the amount of space on the oem pulley. this is were you want the c3 to be
3. not sure about life mileage. watch for i/c leaking, s/c pulley going bad and wer on the rotors inside the s/c
4. as for c3 no tune is needed. with the cai the ecu will most likely adapt to the combo, but for the best gains with the setup a tune is recommended. when you move up to the larger crank pullies ie: 181 or 185 the upper wot is were the lean conditions come into play
5.never experienced this in mine. with your mileage a full fluid flush with new filter and gasket is recommended. 20$ for the filter and gasket. you will need approx 8 qts of crossfire specific fluid. approx 21$ per qt
SLK32Krazy answered the other questions great, but the tranny "hanging up" is normal.
Under "spirited driving", the tranny will stay in gear and hold it until it feels is the best time to shift. If you want to make it go into the next gear, you can bump the shifter over and override. It is odd at first, but once you get used to it you grow to really appreciate this transmissions in these cars.

# 1 I had the dealer fix a valve cover oil leak with the same mods and they gave me no **** but if the supercharger goes or engine gets dusted they wil blame you!!
#2 Clearance between the pulley and clutch magnet should be at least .020" but just make sure they don't touch both running and not.
Mine did rub so I emailed Code 3 and they sent me some shims.
A tune will help but is not required.
You got one hell of a bang for your buck!!!

Everything was answered pretty well...
The only thing I would comment on is to be wary if you think about going with the C3 Pulley and a 181/185 Crank Pulley... This has not been proven and could prove to be a problem for the engine and ECU... I would consult with someone fluid in tuning and the M112 engine to discuss the potential hazards if you go this route...
As of my knowledge to date, I do not know anyone running both a larger crank pulley and a smaller SC pulley... SRT or AMG.
Like I said before, other than that everything else was well answered.

.
there is a person or two that has a 178 or a 181 and then machined down down their s/c pulley to the proper size to have the same boost as the 185 setup, which is safe. it is beyond that that is unknown i think
