Kinda sad that they would still sell it but I have to hand it to them for being very up front about it.

Hope the new owner has some form of recourse with this or fully knows what he or she is buying.
Yikes!! Soon as the person finds this site, they will be crying!! I was super pissed when I found out someone had swapped the seats in my car with seats from a limited!! This goes way beyond that! I wonder if the person could file some kind of lawsuit against the company selling it??

What has been removed?? The wing, the rotors and wheels? Possibly the seats weigh slightly less, but that is not that much weight. Not enough to make a big difference IMO. Also, if they plan on driving at higher speeds, they would be taking a risk without a functional wing. Assuming that the wing isn't functional of course.....

From what the sales guy told me, the buyer paid them what they were asking. You could buy one of these cars that wasn't stripped for less than $17k if you look hard enough. Sucks that someone was taken. Their Crossfire experience will not be a good one.

17K for that thing?!?! Are you serious? Did you tell the salesman that the car was a total hack and there was no such thing as a "Black Max" SRT??

At the very least, we won't have to see it pop up every six days on Ebay.

Someone with the screen name Black Max posted to the shoutbox and I gave them the unfortunate news, I did not think they would find us this quickly. Bet they wish they would have found this thread BEFORE they bought a car that the salesperson lied to them and told them it was "one of only 200 in the world". I am hoping this bastardized car is only 1 of 1 LOL

Black Max SRT-6, take it back and demand a refund. This dealership will not want the bad publicity associated with this sale and will likely refund your money if you act quickly.

Someone who knows how should send him links to all of the treads discussing this car, so that he will have the additional information needed to make a good complaint file.

Edit: After reading the ShoutBox log, it looks like Beaner and Black Max SRT-6 are one in the same? Is this a joke or am I reading it wrong?

Beaner is up in Canada and has been around long enough to know about the black max edition, he was referring to seeing the thread in the SRT section (I believe). They are not the same person.

I was refering to me seeing the post by pizzaguy in the shoutbox. I did not buy that car
[Today 11:01 AM] Beaner: ohh I see it
[Today 10:38 AM] pizzaguy: Start a thread in the SRT6 area, Black Max! The shoutbox doesn't see a lot of use here.

Recieved a reply from the Dealerships EBAY account at 1545 today stating that the car was still for sale and that I should call them to discuss it if interested. I had emailed to see what they knew about the car before the EBAY auction was closed.

You think the buyer backed out at time of delivery? Sure hope he did.

Only good thing that could come of this car is for someone to get a really sweet (read, less than 12k) deal on the car, get SRT brakes back on there, get a base/limited BCM so the wing would work correctly, paint the bumper grey and the wheels silver and make a hell of a sleeper out of it. Oh, and get rid of those G**D*** Black Max stickers.

I have been reading the threads on this car today and it does not seem all that bad. Just because some of the bolt on SRT parts were swaped out with base or limited parts does not mean it has been hacked up. It just means they switch parts. No different than people changing their bumper to a SRT6 bumper or swapping grey interior with cedar interior. And for the brakes, just go out and buy a big brake kit and be done with it. Other than not haveing the big picnic table wing on the back, 98% of people would not notice the difference between a srt and a limited (other than the badges which can be purchased anywhere)

I do not share your opinion. Brakes and body were modified for the SLK32/SRT-6 by Meredes for safety reasons. Who knows what else has been modified during this hack job or how it effects the safety of the car.

I have seen SRT-6's sell for under $15K.
Brakes Rotors and Calipers: $2000-$2500
Struts: $500-$1000
Seats: $1000
Rear Hatch/Wing: $1000
Wheels: $1000
Badges: $100
Body Panels: $500
Paint of replacement parts: $2500-$5000

Sadly this guy found out why "Black Max SRT6" was still available as a screen name and Black Max soon became Mad Max.
Lets hope he can get his money back with few hassles.

Actually, that's what I thought. But I figuered it was a member playing games.

The dealership still has the car for sale. Give them a call like your and interested buyer, you can actually here the dancing.
