Flowtech Warlock
Look what I stummbled across, this seems like the perfect replacment for the secondary cats.
The only thing stopping me is the amount of custom work the exhaust shop would have to do, they would need to make a Y pipe then the muffler then another Y pipe but alot of twists and bends. Need to get some quotes.

thats not going to fit in the space were the sec. cats are located. its a full muffler not a cat. you could use it to replace your muffler but realize without headers most exhaust mods yield minimal results.
the best setup i have seen on a xfire was metal miltia's true dual setup with an ansa muffler. a bit loud but he pulled some great dyno numbers with minimal mods and a dyno tune

your talking about 2 y pipes which will restrict the flow you are looking thus negating any gains.
your cars exhaust mods so easy! why not use some race cats in place of the secondaries to a true dual setup with a single dual inlet dual outlet magnaflow muffler. just past the secondary cats add a tube at a 45* angle exiting in front of the rear tires with the caps like the muffler. you can open them at the track.
also im having great luck with replacing the factory h pipe with a xpipe from magnaflow. killed the drone and deepened the sound.

The only problem with what your saying is where would I find a cap to block the exhaust off when I'm not at the track lol
Doc I did alot of research on those exhaust cut outs and there definatly a better option.
My question now is do they work lol? I'm assuming they decrease back pressure resulting in trq levels dropping and ultimatly a slower car? with a nicer sound lol

like i said before your system is so easy why not a true dual with the magnaflow? then if you want a stright exhaust cutouts are an easy addon.
the caps are easy to fab . use the flange from the old cats and a blocking plate with a gasket.

Talk to Rob about a set of cutouts. He has them on his site. These are for the neon but he has ones that will work with our car as well. They are compact and have a small foot print so they fit practically anywhere.

It also keeps you from having to hold down a button for 10 seconds to open or close them so you don't run the risk of holding it down to long and over driving the motor when you open or close it.

I read the other treads on the electric cutouts. So....... has anyone posted any dyno or 1/4 mile numbers with these? If you could gain 1 to 2 tenths as suggested in the other thread, I would be all over this. I am a bit sceptical about the gains though. Input anyone?
Hot rodders called them "Lake Pipes" I had them on a '56 Mercury. You weld a pipe to your existing header pipe on each side terminating just behind your front tire (or in front of your rear tire) the end of the pipe needs a flange welded on it, you bolt a chrome cap with a gasket on the flange. When your at the track you unbolt the caps and the exhaust takes the path of least resistance. You keep your stock system and don't have to buy the electric (or manual) bypass valves.
Thanks guys, I looked at those threads but I dont think I want to go with the electric cut outs, I've heard if you drive over water they start to stop working, and the heat doesnt do them any good either.
I'm happy to go with the old school unbolt, bolt on cut outs but I dont know if there is going to be any power gains.
From the many readings I've done on the net I've seen people gain 20whp and I've seen others loose hp. It all apparently depends on the car. No one has really reported looses or gains with them on our cars!!! Hrmmm what to do...

remove the secondary cats and the resonator. delete the h pipe and add an x pipe. leave the oem muffler on and run the dog snot out of it. those mods yield a modest inc of power from the secondary cat delete and a massively better sounding car. even if you dont win the race you will sound great going down the track!!

I think Rob just ran a straight pipe from his headers lol?
But I'm starting to agree with you guys maybe the cut out isnt the way to go on our cars.
32 I've already deleted my resenator, I'll take my car in next week and get the rear cats taken out, see how it sounds then

i used a magnaflow xpipe from stainless steel i got from ebay for 83$ shipped. course your shipping is another issue!

thats it exactly!! i got it in 2.5" both ends . well built and it fits great in the same spot as the h pipe location. i just centered the x were the h was
