no it wont. thats why we are trying to get enough deposits to get it built for our diff. as for cash the deposit wont be needed until we have enough commited to buy. so start the saving!

 

I found a distributor here in IN for wavetrac. Not far from the track I run at. They are an axle manufacturer. Waiting to see if they do installs. So, it is looking up...

 

If you get a price qoute on the install let us know .

from rereading the thread doc wants 1 and projectmayhem along with m3pig are researching but very interested. i would also think the superxfires (mistertaz and lantana) would absolutely have to have 1 to get any of their power to the ground. that would make 10 but will let buggin update the list as they contact him

 

I really would like one too.... but my job just got a little iffy so I am hesitant... if we get enough I may just join anyway and let things fall where they may..... cant worry about everything...

I looked at the site and have some interest, but I wouild have to know the hp limits for this diff and warranty etc. Has anyone here seen this fiff used on another MB? I would be curious to see if it interfered with the trac control and the electronic stability program. It looks like we do need a mod for the rear if we plan on tracking these cars. I really didn't expect that. I was under the impression that MB typically overbuilt them. Oh well, live and learn. Experience and real world examples trumps impressions every time. LOL Anyone actually drove an MB car or another car with a similar electronic traction control like ours to compare best times with it, vs. the wavetrac? I am wondering how much of an impact it will have on our handling as well.

 

it seems to be the diff the high hp sl55 guys are doing to over the quaiffe. theres a few writeups on the benz pages

Here is my warning of caution! I hate to be a stiff so don't take this the wrong way. Just offering a voice of reason.

Not sure what you guys are doing.... but I would be very careful! I don't pay deposits for anything in development unless I am prepared to get burnt and lose the money. This stuff happens all the time and never turns out good in the end! Even if you have the best intentions this thing can go sour in so many different ways! Doesn't work right, not exactly what you expected to get.... or even worse someone runs away with the money.

Just not worth the risk. Collecting deposits to develop something seems like a great idea but never turns out well in the end. But still people are anxious to sign up and get involved. I don't understand why.

 

You're pretty much preaching to the choir on this forum...seeing as this has already happened with a little sideskirt fiasco which doesn't need to be delved into anymore...

However, I would have to say that WaveTrac has a really good reputation for R&D and customer satisfaction from everything I've been able to find.

 

I don't know Wavetrac... and I am not saying not to do this. I am just saying the sideskirt issue is a common situation. Not the first and won't be the last. With the sideskirt issue, the intentions were honest and a great concept. I didn't take part in it but I would be the first to buy if it was available!

 

just to be clear wavetrac isnt developing a new lsd for us. they are building an lsd that they already have in production to FIT in our differential. they have built hundreds already for the c32 /c55 sl55 and bmw as well as audi. because our cars arent in production anymore the company wants the deposits to ensure the diffs being built are sold and not sitting on a shelf useless to them. you have to remember there are only approx 7000 slk/xfires worldwide. its not like building a diff for a vette.

I'm willing to put my name/reputation behind Steve (32Krazy). I know him personally, and I know he's a very honest and reputable man. Without getting some people to put up the money we wouldn't get products like this. Yes the side skirts fiasco happened, and thankfully I wasn't involved, but this is a different company. It's not like wavetrac popped up last night. All of these cars have a weak rear end. I bet if you took yours down the road you can hear the whine it puts out.

Now if you want to be one of the safe guys and wait until everyone else puts there money in to push things forward. Then go right ahead, but for Gods sake please quit trying to police the forum. We're all big boys and can spend our money how we want to.

 

errr...maybe if you only mean the AMG/SRT models.
