*Needed* 20 to Pre-order Wavetrac LSD for SLK32/SRT-6
Check out the 2 minute mark. I was pushing it and overdriving the car but I learned a vital lesson. Maybe a LSD would have afforded more grip and control.

How long would it take a mech to instal the wavetrac?
32krazy my 6 is still fairly new ive only done 18k miles, I do notice the car squeeks a fair bit at times getting in and out of the car. I like the idea of the lSD, i feel like our cars have great response, acceleration and top end, the problem has always been traction.. for me anyway. Taking the time to learn about the core value of an LSD has made me appreciate it a lot more. I thought this video was really interesting breaking down what an LSD is all about

Seriously, the way the concept was shown so simply and elegantly was
engineering genius. In five minutes, you walk away with a working
understanding of not only what a differential is, but how it was developed
and refined into the product we have today. Five minutes for something
the Shop Class teacher took so much time with.
Of course, he did go into the math...

Wavetrac is not gonna help us there, you hit that left curb berm upsetting the suspension and that sent you into the spin
. Did they give you a mandatory stop and go for putting the wheels off the course? I've run Quaife diffs on a few cars and supposedly the Wavetrac is better at the on-off-on throttle transitions because of that center friction pack.
I'm racing next weekend at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, this time I'll be better prepared with some real rubber and track rims
Now if I could just make my Go-Pro camera work (or remember to turn it on unlike last time
) I could put up some cool vid like you did. Nice job

Hey guys, I suddenly may not be able to participate in this group buy.
Work may be shifting a bit, may have to tighten the boot straps. I realize I need to make a decision by the 19th.
I'm posting this here 'cause I had volunteered to be the back up "test fit" car.

Getting tight! It's been horrible for me the last 2 years but I'm of the age that if I don't do it now I never will. So the mod budget is constantly being expanded and broken. After all, you cant take it with you.
I have 28 events in 2011 at 3 different tracks so as soon at the Wavetrac gets in I'll be able to give lots of info and observations. I'll even jump some curbs to see if it makes a difference. When I jumped the curb in the video I was under power and the inside wheel spun which is the same as taking the foot off the gas in the middle of a corner. But driver error gets most credit. It was the last lap and I was seeing how late I could brake (missed some apexes badly) and a few other ill advised experiments. I didn't put a wheel off the track in the spin, I pulled off after the spin to get out of the way and then came around and into the pits. That little excitement got me an instant fan club. I really don't know how the Wavetrac will help. But I'll repeat what I've already said, my racing buddies tell me it's the most important change that will show the most benefit on the race track.

I know the deadline is comming up and I want to jump in the group buy but I'm still unsur on some things.
Does anyone know A. How long it will approximatly take to have the unit installed in our diff? B. Is there a definate completion date? Has Devin indicated it will be by January?
And lastly will these be available after the group buy? I dont see why not if its a good product I'm sure they will continue selling them. But who knows.

I am of the opinion that if WaveTrac doesn't start processing payments soon this group buy is going to fall apart. We are coming up on the holiday season and practically everyone is going to be tight on money once they start shopping. They, WaveTrac, needs to get this thing moving sooner rather than later.
They are apparently losing momentum and we all are going to pay the price. Someone needs to start a fire up their rears, no pun intended, HA! and get this thing done.
I will give him a call tomorrow.
I can't help with the test fit since I am on the east coast, wish I could.
I need a trueLSD for this car! Real sports cars have mechanical limited slip differentials. To say otherwise, you're just kidding yourself.

i guess some clarification is necessary. wavetrac is the name of the diff built by autotech. unitrax is the dealer for autotech. the unit is in the process of being built and unitrax is waiting until the first diff is built then cutting a check to autotech for all the diffs ordered. thats when the credit card will be charged. we will be purchasing the units from unitrax and they have no control over how long autotech takes to build the diff.
there isnt any loss of momentum. those that have given a card want the unit and realize that this will take as long as it takes. would we like it yesterday? sure. will we wait until its ready? due to nothing else is available then yes.
yes the holidays are coming but we knew mony=ths ago this would most likley be jan or feb before we purchased the unit.. PATIENCE PLEASE. hang in there and you wont be sorry
later the better for me anyway....guages for two cars over a grand, meth kit, welding, fitting, another grand....and then the install of two rear ends...geez....better stay healthy and keep both jobs a while longer...but, spring will come and it will be worth the wait...and, I just got a horse...go figure...I may be riding her to work, if things don't pan out...lol
I would purchase 1 or 2 of these if i raced my crossfires, but I drive like an old lady so it won't pay for me! Dying to know how they come out!!!
Not sure if I missed a few posts (or pages ) in this thread but I am in on the group buy, they have my card, and I live like 15 Miles from Unitrax. TheSRT is not my daily driver so I could easily part with it for days at a time, did we need another test fir car or is that handled?
