question or one for Devin specifically, but if I pull the diff myself, do I ship it to him full of fluid or do I drain it and then ship it to him?
Answer===drain it.

Shipping anything with fluids becomes a HAZMAT issue...
Very good point. Should have thought of it that way....would have had to attach a MSDS form to it, which is not likely.....now to go study up on the repair manual on pulling the diff to make sure I don't need anything special prior to beginning to tear into it.
I guess the other thought is, I should contact Devin and tell him I intend to have them do the install, so they do not ship my LSD to me then I have to ship it and my original to them for the install. Seems stupid to pay for shipping twice....
Thanks again.

you could tell devin at the time you make the final payment that you want him to do the install.
when the g/b first started devin quoted me 225$ for the install plus you have to pay for shipping both ways and that runs approx 75$ each way. turnaround time was 24 hrs once they receive the diff

I can tell you this right up front. We won't be installing them for $225. Will have to see what shipping is on these as well. We will do my car and see just how long it takes, and how much work it really is. Then will post a price if you want to come to central Indiana for an install...We will try to keep it the same overall price, but too soon to tell. And Devin, we will have questions as we do our own, so we will set up something with you on taking our phone call. Hopefully, you have Skype. LOL>....
doc when allen (buggin) sent his unit from ga. to cali the shipping was around 75$ 1 way. so figure 150$ +225$ = 375$ total cost plus 2 axle seals to get it done at unitrax
Yes, Steev is correct. I paid $75 to send a complete diff (well packed in spray foam) from GA to CA.
I'm gonna see if I can send them a new 3.07 ring/pinion to put in that new N/A unit I sent them and set it up with the Wavetrac. This project is getting quite spendy for me:
- N/A rear I bought by mistake = $450
- Used junkyard 3.07 unit to get by with = $550
- Shipping to Unitrax = $75
- Wavetrac LSD = $1100
- New ring, pinion and seals to convert from 3.27 = $850
- Install = ???
- Shipping back to me in Germany = apx $150 (USPS ground to NY, then military cargo)
So that totals $3175 PLUS install... I shouldn't have added it up, this is sickening!
BTW, I spelled your name wrong on purpose since you still can't get mine right... lol
