*Needed* 20 to Pre-order Wavetrac LSD for SLK32/SRT-6

I'm gonna see if I can send them a new 3.07 ring/pinion to put in that new N/A unit I sent them and set it up with the Wavetrac. This project is getting quite spendy for me:
- N/A rear I bought by mistake = $450
- Used junkyard 3.07 unit to get by with = $550
- Shipping to Unitrax = $75
- Wavetrac LSD = $1100
- New ring, pinion and seals to convert from 3.27 = $850
- Install = ???
- Shipping back to me in Germany = apx $150 (USPS ground to NY, then military cargo)
So that totals $3175 PLUS install... I shouldn't have added it up, this is sickening!
BTW, I spelled your name wrong on purpose since you still can't get mine right... lol

you will always be allen to me!!
Well, I though all along it would be in the $400 range to do. I will see after we do mine if we can do this cheaper. It's his time more than mine. So it will be up to my mechanic what he will charge, but I will work on him a bit. I would think, the more we do, the less we will charge. But, lets get one done first.

about $150 for shipping to and from, $225 for the install....or my house, and you bring the beer, plus whatever Freddy charges you for labor....lol
Doc, that sounds good, but I have a local guy here that specializes in diffs and transmissions. So I'll probably get it done here. I don't know how much it will cost though...
Sure would be nice if we had it in time for race season...

if theres anything i can do to help cut the cost down let me know. what is a new ring and pinion run? waveykat from mbworld has my old diff, maybe it would be cheaper to buy it and have him ship it to devin .
A new ring/pinion set is around $750. Devin said he'll see if he can get me a better price. I'm choosing this route because everything will be new: case, bearings, seals, ring & pinion, etc. If I'm gonna do it, I'm doing it right... one time! (knock on wood)
Alan...A L A N....want to get it right...lol...working on these little babies can be trying... I see in your sig that your 32 was running right there with my roadster. Your were a few tenths faster. Have I missed something or misunderstand the rearend gear? Is the 32 3.27 or same as mine 3.07? Just being curious. I can't wait to get them installed. Even though Uncle Sam just took $2500 of my hard earned money. I am writing that check now. So poor old Rob up there in Michigan will have to wait yet another few more months for me to order my Dashdaq...I may never get gauges...lol
Doc, the 32 has the same 3.07. When I blew mine up, a fellow forum member sold me a diff that was supposed to be a 3.07 for an SRT... it was a 3.27. The unit was brand new, so it was a steal at $400. So I'm just goingto convert that one since Unitrax has it still anyways.
I only ran 12.1x a few times. The MT D/Rs make all the difference. Too bad they arent into drag strips here in Germany. Once installed, this Wavetrac won't be getting any "real" use from me for a while...

I just set the 60' to beat this past weekend at Mopars at the Strip here in vegas. With my Phantom Grip "LSD" and hoosier DRs I cut a 1.69 60'.................no nitrous(or any spray) helping me off the line. I've been waiting forever for you guys to get these Wavetrac units in, installed and down the track for a true comparison.
There has been alot of work trying to go to the 3.2 rear and amx did not get it to work due to the computer. Be wary so that you dont get pinched as it were. Woody
Alan, Woody is correct is why I was asking. No one I know of has solved that problem. Since the sensor see's more spin, it puts you into limp mode. You have had enough problems already.
As for the 60' time, that is fantastic. I did the 1.76 with my street tires. I haven't been able to use the the old Hoosiers you sold me, until I get the new rear ends done. Then we will finish them off and buy new this fall...great job. You and Mimi are putting the pressure on....lol

The Kleemann LSD should be a great choice to go for...

I might be able to get a stage 1 tuning kit + LSD for a good combo...It is either that or buy eveything from Needwings + Eurocharged. (tune, DCAI, 181 pulley + ASP) ... Should not hijack any threads. Hope it goes well with the Wavetrac LSD!!
