Default Odd Transmission problem.

Found the forum today while looking for info on my transmission problem and immediately had to register. My '05 SRT is one of the best cars I've owned. However, there is a transmission problem that is really, really frustrating. Normal driving is no problem, except for occasional tranny slip when cold. However, whenever I get into the throttle hard, the transmission jumps out of gear and I have to stop to get it in gear again. Yesterday, it happened on my way home from work and I almost got run over by a semi! I jumped on the gas because the trucker was coming up fast and it jumped out of gear and was coasting in the left lane at 60 mph. Very scary. It has done this on many occasions. Is it time for a new tranny? I bought the car for fun. Not fun if I can't play! Can't decide now whether to fix it or trade it!! I need something I can have fun driving. Any ideas? TIA.

Most likely low transmission fluid. I had the same problem caused by the connector plug leaking.https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...-ta-daaaa.html

Same problem here, with the coupe, got on it hard, and tranny shifts into neutral. Had the connector replaced and the fluid topped up ............no problems since

Had the same problem with my N/A---low transmission fluid/ sensor leak. My money will be on this---if you keep"playing" without at least filling the transmission---well, buckle up buttercup for a big repair bill. "Neutraling" MUST be looked at now. Good luck---glad that you found the forum. Jimmy

have a look at the phenolic bushings under the shifter cover. these can wear out and cause the trans to jump gear
