Default Dyno - First Time - Great Results

Well guys, I finally got my car on a dyno. With the mods I have done I was afraid that my AFR was going to be way out of whack. I have been, therefore taking it easy until I got it on the rollers to make sure everything looked okay.
Well I am very please to report that it everything looks pretty good.

I will get the scans of the dyno reports up shortly, in the mean time, she put up 332.1Hp on a Dyno Dynamics. That was the best of 3 runs.
I did a throttle reset prior to strapping her down. The runs went like this:

1. 318.3HP
2. 332.1HP
3. 325.8HP.

The max torque figures did not print out. The max appears to be ~313ft/lbs per the graph. The temp was 49 degrees (Virginia Beach, Va at 3:00pm today, ~ -700DA) for those that want more info.

I didn't have ANY problems with the TC kicking in?!?!?!? I was totally shocked! I thought it would have lit up like a pinball machine, but we turned it off via the switch on the dash and the car ran to 5800-5900rpm in 3rd gear. NO fuses pulled...no fuss, just a strong run.

I was totally expecting the TC to give me fits and the HP to be around 300-310Hp since I do not have a tune. I was pleasantly surprised, as was Brent at DynoTunedPerformance. This was the first SRT6 they have dynoed and he was very surprised at how much power my car put down. I was too!

My AFR's looked great. From 3.8K to 5K they were in the 11.8 range. At 5K they went to 12.0. From 5K to 5.4K they were in the 12.0 to 12.25 range. From 5.4K to 5.8K they were in the 11.7 to 12.0 range.

edit: I got the dyno scans loaded finally. They are in my gallery

Cheers,
KrzyFast

Always nice to see what numbers you get on a dyno.
Any track times to go with those dyno numbers?

Those are some good numbers, and without a tune. Pretty awesome. You
got good A/F numbers to boot. Those are very consistent with the A/F
numbers I saw when I was on the dyno last month. So, when you going to
get the tune?

I wonder how much more a tune would give me based on my current mods and AFR's?
Of course I would love to have more, but don't want to run it on the ragged edge either.

no track times with the current mods. I went to the 1/8 mile track back in May and ran a 8.3 with belt slip in 80 degree weather.
I have since separated the cooling systems, installed K&N filters in the SL55 boxes and gasket matched the intake.

tune will net aproxx 20 hp and the biggest gain is in the torque curve and tcu changes. my retune has added fuel to my lean issue and now im seeing 11.9 to 12.3 at 6000 rpm. the power curve is awesome and the torque makes my 1 and 2 gear useless with my street tires and foot in the pedal!

The winter is always the best time to Dyno a car...The cold air makes the car come alive

...just like hitting the track in the colder months almost always produces better times.

Definitely. Coming home tonight it was 35 degrees outside. I floored it at 65mph and before i knew it I hit 100. The car is a real monster when it is this cold outside.

I was looking at your graphs and to me it looks like your AFR is in the 18's 19's but I'm not really sure on how to read those graphs I may be looking at it wrong.

The AFR graph he printed is a bit confusing without some background. The one huge spike you see is a bad run - the car downshifted, so he shut it down. The graph is also showing HP in relation to AFR. So the 3 lines starting at between 12.25-13.4 per the scale on the left that decrease as RPM increases = AFR readings, so use the scale on the left side of the graph. The other 3 lines starting at between 11.5 to 12.5 per the scale on the left that increase as RPM increases = HP and so you should use the scale on the right side of the graph to see what the HP is at a given RPM.

In a nut shell, AFR readings on the bottom 3 lines and HP on the top 3 lines and 1 outlier-bad run.

Hope that helps!

HP readings seem pretty consistant with what I got last year on a Dynamics, before my tune. i tried to get a follow up with the same dyno but it was acting up and didn't get any new numbers. Congrats on the good runs.

Do you have a scan of the dyno run somewhere? I am pretty happy with mine run especially considering I don't have a tune yet.

It was a Dynocom, not a Dynamics, but its calibrated to run similar to Dynamics and Mustangs in this area. Dynocom and DynoJet numbers tend to run higher than others but talking with guys in my area, have confirmed the more realistic numbers from this one. I will be running on a Dynojet this month, and get a A/F reading, for the Dynocom messed up on me last time I was there for a followup after-tune run.

Cool man, thanks for sharing! So this is your dyno after tune, right?

Edit: Never mind, I just reread your prior response - it was a pre-tune run.

Edit2: Just comparing your run and mine, the peak HP is very similiar, with yours starting higher, but what gets me is my torque figure. Your torque reading as well as others on the board that have posted up dyno charts are in the 330-350ft/lbs range when running a C3 or 178mm pulley.... I'm excluding the the 185mm pulley guys as it is apples to oranges.

Cheers,

KrzyFast

Just did a few pulls on a local DynoJet with AFR readdings off the tailpipe.

take into consideration that these readings are @45 degree and out of my tailpipe with all four cats so they will be higher. They are probably closer to 12.5, but could still use some tweaking.

I would like some more ponies, but have plenty here to keep up with you Steve, lol. We shall see in the future.
