Eurocharged AMG Speed Shift TCU Flash - $499
Hey MJ, the Wavetrac solves the early shifting! You just keep spinning until red line. Now, that lag is annoying. Perhaps it makes parts last longer but I can't help think about how this transmission handles up to 500 whp and lot's more torque than we can produce in the LX's before starting to suffer. I don't know if I want to raise the redline because I spend a lot of time up there. I do want to be able to hold a gear or short shift. I don't really need a hard shift, just a faster one. I want to give it a try.

Les,
I heard good things about the wavetrac, but that's going a little further than I'd like with mods (despite having a ton of them already, ha). Those short shifts are annoying but easily remedied by turning off traction control so I guess I'll live with it.
Like you I'm also a bit concerned about raising the redline up to 6,500 but I'm also paranoid when it comes to stuff like this. Maybe 6500 is perfectly fine, maybe not. I'm in it for the long haul, so I'm wondering if the good guys at Eurocharged can ease off a few hundred RPM at our request... while still keeping the other goodies intact.
That, or tell us why they chose 6,500.
Guys?

Wait....

Ok now it finally shifts, after about 2 seconds of jerking and impatient waiting. ANNOYING.
I want instantaneous shifts on my command, and I want them to only come when I tell the damn thing to. Does this mod fix these issues?

Any fellow forum members take the plunge yet? I'd like to hear some more reviews before I start mortgaging the house for more mods...
Definately interested to hear more about the chosen 6500 rpm limit also.

I got mine done on monday....drove into houston, they took it out flashed it and we went for a drive. worked very well(and still is). The only thing was the adaptive learning in the car made it stumble and die the first few times we came to a stop. So went went back, they wheeled out a handy dandy MB factory machine called the "star"......reset all the adaptive learning and bam, done deal! no issues since.

Can you answer a few questions for me. When in W-mode (now manual mode) do you have to be moving before you can up shift? And in S-mode, can you down shift when you just started the car without moving?
Thanks,
Bryan
Honestly those are both things that I have no need or reason to do. In the spirit of things I will give it a shot in the morning when I leave work and get back to you.
The reason I ask is I installed this software and the paddle shift kit and I can't shift out of D in S-mode and 1st in W-mode. Just trying to see what my issue may be.

Hey guys,
Just to clarify, if in manual mode, we still leave in safeguards for over-rev etc so you won't damage the engine if you mis-shift/downshift etc.
I wouldn't classify our tune as aggressive as well. It is definitely semi aggressive. We do have some other options that are aggressive, but reserve those for our track customers only.

Has anyone thought of putting a real dual clutch tranny in the car instead of messing with the existing one. All the high end cars have them, even the TDI I drive has one, there must be a way. I also imagine you would see quit a difference, not to mention the sport mode would be a blast. Although the stock tranny is solid, it doesn't make for a sporty feel to the car. This is proberbly the one disappointment I have with the car. Ramono
