the sc is disengaged at idle in all cases, it only turns on when you break a rpm threshold, I believe it is around 1500rpms

Today I talked to Khang Vo. He told me he isn't going to fix the backing plate on all of them just the ones that broke. To me I think that's BS. He should fix everyone's since it's a "defect". He said the cost is too high. A person who makes a product should stand behind their product. The person made a profit in selling the item from us.

Hi Chris, Do you have any of the scatter shields ready to ship? Did you come up with better looking install bolts? I'd like to have a shield installed before we take the car up to the Tail of the Dragon GTG. We are scheduled to leave for there on October 1st.

Why don't you give me a call and I can see what I can do to hook you up with and early one.

Chris, just checking in. I would like a shield. Never can be too safe. I am removing the pulley again, as we only took the belt off and took a look, now I am removing the pulley for a complete inspection. If I don't like what I see, the 65 is going back on. But, I didn't see any signs of heat build up....but I did have a sense of slippage at the half mile event. No boost leaks, no belt slippage as I see no signs of belt fragments or dust build up. But nothing wrong with insurance. And, if this fits 65's which I will assume it will, make that two shields. Group buy? LOL.....

The shield fits with all pulley sizes (as the clutch/drive plate O.D. which defines the shield's I.D. is the same on all of the pulleys for this application). The protos I made fit fine and seem up to the task, but I am thinking I'll make the next (final) version from Stainless. A group buy may be just ticket (and a discount for 2 seems only fair ; )

I should have more info very soon.

Cheers,
Chris

Anybody have more information on that theory that it is an epoxy paste filler or does anyone know how the surface of the magnet could be repaired / refinished??
Can't tell if the ring that's 1/2 missing was a prefabbed part that was pressed in or if it's a filler. We always had good results with a steel/epoxy like 180 mentioned called Liquid Steel. ITW Devcon makes different formulas for Steel, Stainless, Titanium, Bronze, Etc. ITW Devcon | Maintenance & Repair | Metal Repair

Loctite and Permatex make similar products.

Bob, when I get around to taking mine completely off for a better inspection, I will look at it more closely, but that could just be filled in order to keep dirt built up from occurring. I will take some photos of mine as well. And, of the stock crank pulley.

Ok guys, I finalized the design of the Scatter-shield . It is similar in appearance to the prototype but Stainless Steel instead of aluminum. And ... I just got a favorable quote back for having it cut, formed, and welded ... so I am ready to order.

So, I can let them go for what I feel is a really fair price and will even knock off a little more for anyone who is willing to semi-commit to getting one now. (to those who have asked to be put on the list PREVIOUS to this post, PLEASE confirm now that you want to be on the list : ) The extra special buddy/initial offering price is $85 (including hardware). Shipping in the US (2 day priority) is $12 and will be added as well.

Anyone who wants to order more than one will get the shipping for FREE. There is no commitment required, just say you want one and I will add you to the list (this way I have a better idea how big of an initial buy I should make). The parts will take 3-4 weeks to be made and then they will be hand inspected and test fit by me before I ship.

When they arrive I will let everyone know .... and then those on the list are welcome to pay or back out (with no hard feelings) anyone who didn't get on the list will pay a little more.

This scatter-shield will work on ALL SRT-6, SLK32 and C32 engines with ALL SuperCharger Pulleys,

Cheers,
Chris
