Default gas leak

So, I was on my way home tonight and stopped to check the tire pressure when I smelled gas. I did a quick check under the passenger rear side and I could see three drops of gas dripping from underneath the car. I know it was gasoline because I used my hand to wipe it off. So my question is: are there any known troubles with gas leaks with this car? I will have to wait until I can have simone drive me to where I can use a lift to get under her and check things out. Just looking for some common issues with has leaks right now.

Fuel pump. Just ordered mine. Same car only a coupe. Same thing, smell of gas and a few drops. Pulled cover and pump was leaking. Got a Bosch from Amazon for $199.00. Looks like an easy fix. Good luck!

If this is the issue now might be the right time to upgrade the fuel pump. I need to do some reading up on what pump where to buy etc

Fuel filter is there . Pump is in the tank. You need a long 3/8 extension to remove the top nut on the cover stud. The filter has a built in pressure regulator. Cost maybe $40.00.

I know the filter is there, but I thought the pump was in the tank?

The pump and filter are under a plastic cover in the right rear. 3 10mm nuts hold the cover on. The pump is inline not in the tank.

fuel pump is not in the tank, it is right next to the fuel filter. The plastic shield is very easy to remove to inspect.

And I was more than happy to point this out after having a shop lower the tank and replace my wife's Tahoe pump with the built in filter.. and $750 at the Chevy dealer (walk out the door with it in a box price!).

(yes I said shop.. floor jack and 120 lbs of fuel didn't seem promising..).

Been doing some reading on cff on different ways to. Correct the lean issues some are having with modifications. So is the consensus to use the sl55 pump or will the walbro pump work just as well? What is this bosch pump? Better worse or same?

Gary, there are literally hundreds of posts on these fuel pumps and lean issues, many have tried many different ways of conquering the problem, all are documented on the site. I would either do some searching and reading, or post in a fuel pump thread in the SRT section that is already started....
