New SRT owner with a CEL
Re: New SRT owner with a CEL
Thanks RL!
Yeah, last night I confirmed beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was the I/C pump (too many "I told ya so"'s to be said in this thread lol).
It kept kickin' in and out (sometimes pedal to the floor at 70 would throw me back, other times I felt like I was in my 98 Honda Civic).
Checked to see if it was running for 5 seconds or less; nothing.
I'm loving the classic display of the young guy freakin' out while all the elders shake their heads and laugh ;P

Round Two - The Buyer Strikes Back
I was contacted by my salesman yesterday, imploring me to speak with them. I called back; they apologized again. I said that's cool. Car still doesn't work properly.
Apparently my email to Ford corporate, the Encinita's owner, facebook, my posts on here and my Yelp review yielded results.
The head mechanic took time to speak with me about the problem. After describing my car issue and explaining why I (we) believe its the I/C pump, he nodded his head and first thing out of his lips was "just like the Shelby's".
He explained the only difference is that Shelby's look at operating temps (for the most part) and that will throw a code (but we also agreed you could look at the car wrong and a code could be thrown lol).
They have the car; they are buying the part, they are replacing it for free.

Atta Boy!! Keep them on the ropes and make sure they treat you right! I'm sure you told them what part to use (I would verify the part number before the install) and showed him where it was?
I had a similar experience with the dealer. Long story short, I fixed everything that needed it and after a few scathing reviews and a lot of phone calls, they paid me $800 for about $700 in repairs. I was happy and wouldn't trade the car for anything ;-)
Stay on 'em, tiger!

I fight for the lil' guys; I'm 5'10 and weigh a buck 40, so I fight real hard for that guy
Another interesting point to note: he agreed that this car is going to be a "superbird" of it's time and to hold on to it.

Re: New SRT owner with a CEL
The S/C pump was changed out and you'll never guess what happened...
It works ;p
Thanks to everyone who helped me and held my hand. It's been a long, hair pulling process but now I can finally turn off the TCS and have some fun.
Stryfox - Boost gauge sounds like a great idea. I read a bit about the install (seems simple enough); the only problem is where to mount it ;p
