Default time for an oil change?

Just coming up to my first year anniversary with the srt6, I know the book says to change the oil every 12 month's but I have only done a couple of thousand miles, the oil still looks pretty clean and the FSS has not indicated it needs changing, I just wanted opinions from other owners as to how often you change yours?

Also do you stick to the 0w4 0Mobil 1 as recommended in the book or will any be ok at this viscosity as I bet the garage I bought it from didn't use this.

Thanks

Neill.

I'd likely change it even if you've only done a few thousand miles. Also, personally, I always use Mobile 1. I buy it on sale and change it myself. Only costs me about 50 - 60 dollars to do it myself and it's easy and well worth it.

It's also a matter of condensates and blow-by changing the composition of the oil.

Change it, bud.

I don't use 0W40, but I DO stick with Mobile 1 - and only use oils on the 229.3/.5 lists.
If MB does not approve, I don't approve!

I would change it annually if only driving a few thousand miles.

Why change it annually if there are only a few thousand miles? How about changing it at 18 month intervals?
Is there evidence that 12 months is better than 18 months, when the mileage is so low?
