Throttle body size increase by almost 26%
Re: Throttle body size increase by almost 26%
So what are the major benefits on a blown application? I know what an larger TB does on NA cars as as I have one my viper v10. As this is my only blower car are the benefits the same?
Also, thank you NW for your support on this platform, without you this platform would have died years ago.

I didn't see any performance gains listed on the Needswings website. Will the ECU need to be tuned in order for the idle and drivability to remain civil or is this a bolt on affair. That is a huge increase in airflow and with a CAI you should be looking at a serious increase in HP.
Re: Throttle body size increase by almost 26%
All positives with no ill effects, we first tried using even larger throttle bodies but that caused drivability issues we were not able to resolve... = no good for a street car. This throttle body is solved and remains happy with the ecu and allows the DCAI to exploit its abilities. i have not dynoed it yet and probably will not as every time we install it we do more to the car than just the throttle body itself as so much needs to come off the car that we always end up porting the s/c runners and such at the same time.
reduced restriction and ability to feed more air/oxygen, yes, same benefits blown versus naturally aspirated. larger bore means less air friction and thus lower temps as well. all around good-ness.
thank you, and thank you for supporting us! we have more up our sleeves yet
we installed both onto a customers car here and will have pretty datalog graphs once the roads clear, in progress of another 10" of snow here today
as has been furnished to anyone who has asked, a2731410325
ECU and drivability remains happy
sure, well both, thank you for the correction, i will edit it for you.

Re: Throttle body size increase by almost 26%
The prices for the TB are all over the place. OEM Mercedes is just over a grand. An eBay seller has a new OEM/OES, whatever that means, for half that price, reman is about $200 and used is slightly less.
Rob what TB's have you been using, new used or remanufactured ? OEM is usually my first choice but $1100 bucks is a good chunk of change. Have you used reman units before ?
I can definately see a TB, CAI, a pulley and tune in my future.

I have not purchased yet but here are two options for a new throttle body for only $70-$80.
