Default SRT 6 Spoiler Stress Cracks

My 05 SRT6 has developed significant stress cracks across both posts. I have pulled the spoiler in the past and reset it due to a trunk leak. The posts are very stable, and I don't think it will ever fall off but it is a concern.

I have to have some paint work done on the car anyway, so I started thinking about using Carbon fiber to hold the parts from cracking further and then having the those painted when I have the other paint work completed. Has anyone ever tried this or another solution? I silicon caulk the cracks every winter to keep water from freezing in the cracks and busting it further.

Coupe or roadster? There is a thread on the roadster repair by UrbanE.

Roadster. Thanks for the information. I will look it up. My car has sat for almost 5 years and I am determined to get it back on the road. At the time I had about $4-5000 in computer issues and then my daughter broke the front fascia on a curb, pushing me to $7000, so I parked it. Today those repairs are going to cost me less than $1000. The car is becoming more affordable to maintain.

I too had cracks
I used speed grip 5 in the cracks (I enlarged the cracks so that the speed grip had something to bind to and then I flowed up with West system resin and carbon fibre
it made the posts a little wider but no one would even know

i also drilled into the stanchion from bottom to top and inserted a threaded rod once I filled the hole with resin.

It’s now 4 years later and no more cracks

if you need additional information send me a PM with your email address and I’ll send you additional images.

wasy repair, just took some time.

the cracks will appear on all SRT roadsters
