A good friend of mine recently passed and I’m assisting his widow with selling his absolute favorite car a silver 2005 SRT6 Roadster with under 22k miles.
This was one of 5 misc semi-collectible cars he had and he was meticulous in record keeping and maintenance. I believe he was the 3rd owner, originally a California car and had 17k in 2020 when he purchased it. There’s no cracks in the wing and the top is in good shape. I don’t know of a single thing wrong with it but a Crossfire buff might notice something minor. It was always stored in a garage (with lift) and he honestly never drove it in the rain other than bringing it home from Tennessee. The under carriage is clean with no rust at all. It’s currently near Branson MO.
Sorry, that was a lot of info. What was most important to him was that the car go to someone who would really appreciate it and take care of it. Seems like everyone in this forum probably fits that bill! I’ve looked at BAT but are there other places I should consider? I’ll put it in this forum when I pick it up in the next day or two to take pictures and replace the battery. The pictures are from when he bought it in 2020. The document is his notes for the upkeep.
Note: He lent it to me about 6 months ago for a couple of days to help me convince my wife that we needed a convertible. It drove great and that motor with supercharger is sweet! I would love to buy it myself but I’m just not in a financial position to do that and keep up with ongoing costs.
Yep - I’m not even sure what a good price (for her and new owner) would be. If I average what the last 6 sold for on BAT - that would put it around $17k. Any thoughts on that?
Take a picture of the interior so that the drivers seat can be seen, The driver's seat bolster is subject to wear and buyers would like to see the interior. Also open the hood and get a good picture of the entire engine bay. Listing it here on the Marketplace for awhile, but the visibility to a wider audience may be needed to move it. Be patient, and you will get $17,000; ask a bit more and you can always make a deal for less than asking.
I have a 2005 SRT-6. It has 26,000, new Michlins Pilots, PPF end, Ceramic coating, interior like new, cover, wheels perfect. I would never ever take $17,000 for mine. It is worth more to me just to look at!
As mentioned ...You should list this in the Marketplace here with a description as you shared with us here
Good luck with the sale - SRT Roadsters bring the highest sale value because they only made 902 of them
Valk
That was an original number used back in 2005/2006....
The corrected number of 2005 SRT6 Roadsters are as follows: LHD (left hand drive) = 1252 & RHD (right hand drive) = 78 for a total of 1330. This was given to us by a member that was a Chrysler employee and a forum member that no longer participates on this forum. Dennis

This is an interesting situation. He was clear before passing that he wanted it to go to someone who would love and take care of it and his widow wants to follow that directive. I feel like anyone buying it off of this forum passes the test. BAT doesn’t have the same feel - anonymous bidders but still likely it’s someone who cares versus just buying to flip it.
From my research, which is limited, $17k feels fair to his widow and also a relatively good deal for the buyer. I won’t actually know if my logic is good until I post and see any response. I did have someone reach out directly with interest.
I just moved it from his shop to my location so I can clean it up, get pictures and then list it on the marketplace. It’s in awesome condition BUT the top isn’t working other than manually. It was working 6 months ago when I last drove it so don’t think it’s anything major. I did just replace the battery and hope the system is just confused from that. I’ve been going through the help on the forum and hope that gets it working. Popping the top, the windows go down but then it just beeps. The divider switch is working.
BTW - I’m just helping his widow and have zero financial incentive. I’ll help her find the buyer and negotiate a final price but the transaction will be between her and the buyer.

Try looking at the hydraulic reservoir. You might be low on fluid (Pentosin CHF 11S). It's located behind the driver's side rear wheel well in the trunk. You'll have to remove the carpeted and plastic panels to see it.
If the fluid is low, while you have it apart check for leaks. It could also be low from time as well.
That was on my list to check and I’ll prioritize it now. Also think it might be the tonneau hard cover latch sensor. I’ve read a few others having problems with the spring coming loose.
I was able to check the hydraulic reservoir and it was at the MIN level with the top (manually) up. Other notes that may help:
With the engine running:
When I go to put the top up I’m not able to get the back of the top (where the glass is) up and out of the way so I can close the tonneau cover. It’s just me doing it, nobody to assist. If I release the hydraulic pressure and then do it with the engine off I don’t have the same resistance lifting the back part of the top.
Theres been a couple of times when when attempting this the tonneau cover locks in the upright position. The only way to get it down is to turn off the engine and release the hydraulic pressure
Regardless of whether the engine is running - I can’t snap the top down into the tonneau cover latch (prior to the full tightening). I have to use the 6mm Allen wrench and move it clockwise to open the latch. Then it will seat and I can do the full tighten down with the wrench. This makes me think there’s a problem with the tonneau latch and related sensor.
The pump operates the entire top mechanism. Being low on fluid can damage a lot. Go online and see how to add fluid before messing with anything else. As of know you are just guessing. Did you use the search feature at the top of the page for trouble shooting the top?
What's funny is when you look on Bring a Trailer and do a search for Mercedes SLK32, the same car different body but their prices are also all over the place. I see Crossfires posted for low prices, high prices, and reasonable prices. In the end, it will depend on the buyer and what they are looking for. If you look at the scatter chart for pricing on Bring a Trailer one can see prices are all over the place.
There’s MIN and MAX markings on the hydraulic reservoir and normally anything between those ranges is within factory specifications. I can add more but your terse response provides zero insight as to why that might be the problem. Is this a known issue with the Crossfire hydraulic reservoir markings? BTW - I've already reassembled the trunk panel that covers that area and what a pain that was. If it’s a known problem I’ll gladly take it apart again and add more fluid.
And yes, I’ve researched it on this forum extensively. In fact there’s an excellent and long write up on the convertible top sensors that I’ve been using without success so far. My adding more details was an attempt to help narrow down potential problem areas for those who might have had similar issues.
If you have other meaningful input/suggestions - I’m all ears.
Sorry if you thought my response was terse. I was only trying to advise you to try the easiest and least expensive solutions first. Pizzaguy is the top guru but is not on here all of the time. Best of luck.

I had found that video before too - definitely helpful! He shows that he’s able to snap that top down into the tonneau cover but I can’t. As far as lifting the back of the top up to close the tonneau it doesn’t sound like his engine is running when he’s demoing the process. I can do that part it fine if the engine is off but not when it’s on. Maybe I just need a helper on the other side of the roof - wouldn’t take much hydraulic pressure to make it difficult by myself?
