If you do this consider the surface you are working on as a smooth continuing plane. Don't take it into the cuts into the body such as the recess of the grill and headlights if you take it into the front at all; which you should think over carefully. The front will most likely come out looking like strange shapes and not a continuation ot the striping.

I was going to save it for a surprise but now it might take to long. Here is a really bad photoshop of the idea. Im planning on doing it on the hood and the rear spoiler. Thats srt six's car.
