Convertible top cover Cleaning
Ok I give. I'm new here and must not be using the right words but I'm sure its been covered.
What is the best way to clean the painted surfaces that cover the top when it is open?
Thanks,

im reffering to the painted section that is below the back window when the top is up. Soap and wash mit.. i get that.. do i just put the top down and be careful not to get soap and water in the car or is there another easier way to clean this section?
I figure that you are never going to be in nasty weather with the top down so that area is going to stay pretty clean. I would just go over it with detail spray to clean and wax it once in a while.

But just be careful, I allowed a LITTLE water to trickle down to those two connectors and five wires that plug into the assembly in the gas tank... corroded the wires and gave me a false indication of high tank pressure - turned the ENGINE light on! Only took 20 mins to clean the connectors and fix it, but still...
#2 For those times when perhaps ou might have been rolling down a gravel or dirt road and then run into a light spring shower, or a @#$#$%&#@ seagul uses your car for target practice. Raise the rear fairing to it's vertical position. place painters tape across the underside of the latch hole. place towaels into the drop zones for the edges of the fairing. lower fairing back to It's horizontal position. take a pitcher of water or water bottles to rinse the car with and carefully wash this area and then dry it.
Mission accomplished! Here in the great pacific northwest, We tend to get many variable weather mini climiates on a short drive. I use method #2 at least 6-7 times a Year.
Good motoring to All and Merry Christmas!
