Looks like you have been busy! Are you making air boxes behind the lamps for the filters?

I've been busy too:

I suppose I really ought to start a new thread for this now but carrying on form the yaw sensor stuff...

I have made up a prototype molding that replaces the ashtray and mounts a 4-way rotary switch to allow me to switch the yaw sensor signal through a processor board. This will give me normal ESP, reduced ESP via a modified map and completely disabled ESP (the TC remains controlled from the standard console switch). Not sure what to use the 4th position for except perhaps another alternative map. Currently I only have 4 bit resolution (16 steps) on the output back the CAB unit which may be too coarse. I will have to try it out in the relative safety of the track next month since you really need to test it at speed to get enough lateral G; the ESP system lets you do 360's at slow speed anyway with the TC off so just hanging the tail out on a wet roundabout or right turn isn't really going to prove anything.

Here's a pic. The molding is just the rough GRP plug hence the scabby finish (couldn't resist flashing some silver paint on it to see how it looked though). The centre molding is the original from the car. Tomorrow I will make up a mold from the prototype before mounting it in the car.

Also some ideas on graphics should the thing actually work and end up as a permanent fixture:

Yes I am... Just mocking-up the tubes with some bendable ducting and having some 3" x .045 aluminum tube mandrill bent once I get the angles correct... It eliminates the "high beam", but I'm not running any 24 hour races, so it's OK.

Also, if you notice, I temporarily relocated the OEM battery to the right rear... But need to get a slightly smaller battery to fit inside the "troff" for permanent placement or use this old dry cell I have in the garage... Also put a small 1,000 watt inverter to run the laptop and a few other devices for temporary engine control while I work out the specifics with this EMU... Wiring the harness' are going to take the patience of a saint...

I had to relocate the cooling reservoir tank to make room for the right CAI pipe to fit behind the right headlight... And the former location of the battery was perfect...

Now I just need to do some final clean-up so I can start working on this new engine management system...

PS: The graphic of the "ring" on your project is perfect. Which reminds me, this kid Lewis Hamilton is amazing !!! We should all be so lucky to have that talent...

Ah, you recognized it, it was just a freehand approximation from memory!

Yep, Hamilton is a amazing, an he's powered by Mercedes Benz too.

I don't know if you saw quali on Saturday, but he had a scary looking crash after a wheel gun problem. Thankfully he is said to be 'unhurt' but I am not sure if he will be racing today.

Good luck with the ECU 'spaghetti'.

Thanks Maxwell, but they're not really 'finishing' touches since it's only the very start. LOL.

Spaghetti is an understatement... I haven't looked into the maint. manual yet, but does it have the pinout diagram ? I can't remember...

PS: Now that I re-located the cooling reservoir and removed the two inboard lamps and housings it opens up a whole lot of room for a couple of turbos...

The manual does have the pinouts marked on the schematics and there is a separate section that shows all the connectors and pin numbers. I have found a few anomalies though, especially on the ABS/CAB and ESP wiring.

PS. Make sure you watch the GP it was on a par with Canada!
