Send me an invoice on the grill, if you are still willing to part with it. I need to pull my black one and refinish it but I sold me OEM so it woudl really come in handy
Thanks again Max, I will post some pics of mine once the bay is half way clean, between projects at home, work, and the rain, it is hard to find time

I found an article in BenzWorld on rebuilding a similar unit. They call their unit a Duo Valve, that seems a suitable name for it.
The valve appears about halfway through the article, it's a good read.

I have a distinct feeling those Torx-head "screws" are actually drive rivets. That would explain why they sheared for the fella'. I doubt that it is considered a serviceable piece.

Yes very good article. I can see making that repair IF parts were not available. Also our chances are less likely to do that repair because our magnet valves are not tucked in some body panel collecting road dirt.

Not sure why I never posted in this thread... although it was until recently that I had an engine bay worth displaying
Good to be in such great company on here now!

That is a pretty picture!
But I suggest rotating the hose clamps to make the screws disappear!
Just a suggestion...

These clamps do not have to be strong, just hold it together.

Good points guys... I'll be wrenching on the car tomorrow, so I'll consider it then.
Tackling the suspension (again) and doing some fine-tuning... Steve (32krazy) has been a huge help.

This thread has inspired me to not only detail my engine bay, but add some visual touches on my cover to go along with the gorgeous air intakes I just ordered. Thank you fellow crossfire owners!
Edit: For clarification, I plan on re routing cold air to these intakes.

I will start thread stalking you I swear. Thats not a cold air intake, thats a "place the air filter in the engine bay behind the radiator and suck in hot air intake"
LOL
Aaron, Infinite is correct for sure. You can actually decrease horsepower because you are not sucking in cold air, but instead sucking in the super-heated air from the engine. Find a way to direct the true cold air to those filters and you might see a small gain.....

Those are junk, but he might have been a bit more gentle/tactful in letting you know. Placing the filters in front of the grill, is of course correct-just not easy with large cone filters. I found a way around it. See center pic in my signature.https://www.crossfireforum.org/galle...00/Resize2.jpg

I just spent $59 bucks on dual intakes that look fantastic. If they provide any increase that I can feel I got my moneys worth. I'm not sure why this has to be such a touchy subject, this is about the cheapest air-intake I could buy and I want to see if I can get anything out of it by adapting it to my engine and set-up. My god.
At this point, even if you throw 'em in the round file, they've given the forum $59 worth of entertainment.
So, by all means, if you install them and love them, or even halfway sort-of like them, that's good enough for me. That's the whole point of this journey in the Crossfire. Make yourself smile. A LOT.
You WILL observe better gains by punching through to cooler, fresher air in front of the radiator.
You will also spend more than $59.
My intake, FWIW, cost about as much as a Needswings by the time I completed it. I could've had either, and I chose mine simply because it looks more "finished". Tomato, tom-ah-to.
