No throttle again. Could it be the transmission?
Three weeks after the throttle body was replaced, Sprint booster long removed, transmission fluid and seal replaced ( turns out there was a slow leak) I went into what an only be describing as a massive "limp mode" at the end of a 100 mile trip. Let me explain: I drove up to my house, parked the car for five minutes and then when I restarted, the engine shuddered and sputtered like my old 75 'Dodge Dart before a timing adjustment. The srt6 did not stall but I had no power at the throttle. When I put it into drive I was surprised that it moved at all, "limping' along at about 3 mph till I put it into the driveway. The engine bay smelled like burnt plastic. (Catalytic Convertor?) After 20 minutes I restarted and all was well ( besides the check engine light being on.) Anybody know of a mechanic near Stamford Ct or NYC that can handle a srt6? These guys at my dealership have no clue and I don't want the car to sit there for another two weeks.
Thanks
Paulius

G E T A C O D E Reader. CHEEP mony man.
Plug it in and own the problem. There is a code and I went nutz looking for a throttle body control failure to find out that it was NOTHING TO DO WITH it.
Read the code, plugs under dash , about left ankle. THey are 30 Bucks or so even do EBay. OBDII decoder or if youwanna get into the car and performance, the Zietronix has a code reader and data logger with display - touch screen to do it all if your into doing some under hood wiring, even resets codes. If that is of interest PM me for more on where to go, WOODY

im no expert, in fact i just joined but a friend of mine on this forum has an srt6. hopefully amx1397 will chime in on this one but i remember him telling me about an experience he had that sounded almost like yours just minus the burning plastic smell. His heat exchanger pump went bad, apparently it happens when the car sits for a while. The guys at his dealer thought it was the tranny as well but if the heat exchanger pump goes bad the car will bog down and needs to cool before it will perform again. Like i said im no expert "yet" but ide check out that pump.
I'd check to make sure all your plugs are connected (Spark plug wires) and check around your exhaust manifolds to see if anything is contacting them.
Hey Woody, Are2thejay and Matt
THanks for you advice guys Woody, I will get a OBDII decoder on Ebay as you suggested. Regarding the heat exchanger, once I find a dealership that will work with me, that will be the first thing I point to you and insist they check this time. Hey Matt, plugs were OK. Will keep you informed to any progress.

Update: my dealership said the problem was in my pedal assembly: cost $750. I said what about the engine idling very roughtly after restarting the car? No answer? What would a pedal assembly have to do with the rough idle I experience after I pull the car off the road and restart it? I have a sinking feeling this $750 will not solve my problem. Any ideas?
