Default Possible battery issue

Alright so I did a search on this and couldn't find anything out other than go to Autozone for a test, which I will. My problem is that I went to crank my car earlier and only got a few starter clicks. I checked the voltage and it was fine, tried again and the same. I tried to crank it a third time and finally heard a faint attempt to start. A few more tries later and while strained, it started. There was also nothing to drain the battery and it ran/started fine last night.

Now I've experienced enough dying or dead batteries to know that I've never saw one so dead it couldn't even turn the starter eventually crank with no charging.

Has anyone run into this in the past and determined it wasn't the battery? Maybe the starter.

It could be corrosion on the terminals... bad battery.... battery cable....

Did you try charging the battery for a few hours and see if it cranks properly? It would be unusual for the starter to just die.... but not impossible.

I would clean the battery terminals good and the cable terminals and then charge the battery for a couple of hours and see what happens....

I checked the terminals and they're corrosion free and locked tight. I don't have a charger but my brother does so I might just pay him a visit. I did notice that it's starting a tad slower now, when it does start so it's seeming more like the battery. Looks like I'll be getting a shuriken if it is.

If yours is an 04 -06 and still has the original battery, it is time to replace the battery.

If it's a coupe be sure the rear hatch is fully closed.

I just tested it on a 10 amp charger and it went from about 25% to full charge in less than a minute but the problem persist so it isn't a capacity issue. It's a Mopar Power Pro battery so I assume it's the factory original, it doesn't have the date on it. Next thing I'll try is swapping in a good battery just to see if that works. If for some reason it's the starter I have a warranty on it good for 100,000 miles that should cover it.

That battery is shot, get another one. From 25% to 100% in less than a minute, that battery is gonzo. No battery charges that quick.

If the battery is white, it is the original. Replace the battery and life will be in balance once again.

Do the math - you gave it less than a .166666 amp hour charge and it "went to full charge"? Sounds like a capacity issue to me!

(Of course, I question just what gave you the idea that it was fully charged - do you mean the charger current dropped? If so, then, again, do the math - the battery is bad. But onehundred80 already told you that, didn't he? )

Oh, and these cars did not come with that battery (correct me if I am wrong, guys) they came with a White VARTA battery.

They came with a Varta but some cars sat so long the battery was toast and was replaced with a Mopar.
All batteries have a date of manufacture on them, some have a date that it was charged on as well.

I remember how some sat and got new batteries. I guess mine didn't sit.... well, I know it didn't - the carfax showed it came ashore in Brunswick, GA then was sold in a few months.
