Highly modded N/A. What else can I do.
Heres the story. A while back, I started a thread called srt power in your na for 3k. I said that you could get 280 to the wheels with a nw dcai with the big filters, magnecor wires, ngk irridiums, needswings fuel filter/ regulator, needswings downpipes that delete all 4 cats, srt cat-back, underdrive pulley kit, and an ecu tune. I have done all of this minus the ecu reflash due to possible swaps in the future. The results are rather shocking, it actually feels like a car with some power. I have done no dynos, but it really pulls you back in your seat. I have timed 0-60 pulls multiple times with multiple devices, all were under 5 and a half seconds and one was as low as 5.1 with 57 degreee air temparature. Could i keep up with an srt after an ecu tune? Possibly. My next mod will be the 74 mm tb. Then im considering a 430 injector swap, but I hear split reviews on injector swaps, opinions, advice? Also, a 430 fuel pump swap. I'd like to do headers, but can't find any. Ive considered a rear mount turbo setup, lantana doesn't think i'll blow the motor, but im still skittish toward forced induction. I've thought of cams, but i hear they sacrifice power in higher rpms to improve your peak hp and that the stock cams are best for the broad power curve. Does anybody have any experience to offer on any of this or possibly some things that I haven't thought of?
The fastest N/A around is Paulscrossfire.com and he pulls 13.4 sec on the 1/4. That is with nitrous. So no, the N/A will not be able to keep up with a modded SRT6 that does 11.7 if your name is MIMI ;D

Get a tune ASAP. Call up Eurocharged, ask for Jerry and get the OBD cable sent to you. He will flash the ECU to fit your mods, and will reflash for FREE in the future. So, don't let mods that "might" be installed hold you up from getting the tune.
Also, are you datalogging at all? With all of those mods and no tune, I'd be skittish without knowing where the a/f ratios are holding.
Finally, a dyno at this point is a MUST in order to be truly subjective. Butt-dynos are notoriously INaccurate, and "feels fast" holds no merit. Sadly, timing devices can be very inconsistent because you're at the mercy of your reaction time.
Speedriven is working on a set of headers, jump in the group buy if you're interested. The more, the merrier
All that being said, you still will likely be much slower than a stock SRT. They simply have too much torque, too low in the RPM range, and it's a tough thing to beat.

Where do i go to get in on the headers? A link maybe..... And yes, I do have a Zetronix kit. Will Eurocharged continue to tune for free even after a motor swap, could they possibly unlock ECU's. With a higher 3.27 in the back, it may be possible to keep up with a stock srt as they also weigh slightly more. With a weight reduction, it will be even faster. As for it "feeling faster", it also puts several lengths on my father's na roadster before even hitting 45 mph. Thanks all for the imput. Want to do 430 tb, injectors, and fuel pump. Also want in on headers and ECU tune, don't know who does the best tunes tho. Will likely stay away from cams. Weight and drag reduction is next.

I can't answer that for Jerry about the tune, but I would say that the retune deal dies when you switch motors.
As for the other questions about injectors, pumps, etc... Either give Rob at needswings a call or contact Speedriven/Rudy.
From what I've been told by Rob, our N/A motors don't really need the injector upgrade despite other modifications. Apparently the ECU compensates and bumps up the pressure. One would think that more air = more fuel, but he said reliability gets shot once you start beefing the injectors.
For the header deal, look in the engine subforums.
*edit*
I'm feeling charitable:

Thanks for the charity, I didn't think that offer was still open. That's what I meant about the injectors, I never hear similar opinions. As for reliability, as my sig indicates, my xf isn't my daily, so if i can find a deal, I'll give the 19's a whirl. I recall rudy telling me if I go too big on them, I could do motor damage.

Great guys, they tuned my LTD Roadster, runs really good, about 208 at rear wheels gives about 235-250 hp at crank. SRT6 is much faster. Mine is still fun to drive and I can keep up pretty well.

do your worst and bring the car to me!!! i got a little somethin for ya!!
told you in the first thread you wont get srt power for 3k and i stand by that. bring all your mods and ill show you just how to get slammed back in the seat, my pleasure
If yours has even one mod, its over for me. My goal was to run neck in neck with a stock one for 3k. I expect to beat one with that plus a 500 lb weight cut tho. But back on topic of what else can be done......... I emailed Rudy about the headers.

I agree with the "get the tune" advice. And the reason we think you will loose to any stock SRT is the huge torque they make from idle on up. Even if you have better gearing, more gears, or get equal power you'll still need to be the better driver to win IMO. But I'm a believer in making what you have the best it can be. So keep on keeping on. I'll be curious to see how far you can take the N/A Crossfire. After all, I and some others might end up surprised.

Well, I don't have 3 grands to spend, but it is fun to drive. I like the header idea, under drive pulleys. You can see my mods below on my signiture. It is fun to drive, very responsive, and will run up the back of most cars on the road, but not all. It is what it is, fun, makes me smile. I would have myself buried with it but the plot is to narrow. Oh, well.
It's not going to happen unless you slap together a turbo setup or just run a decent shot of nitrous. A nitrous kit is around $1k and most will add up to 150 hp, which is more than N/A can probably take without other modifications. From my own experience here's my opinion on your potential mods:
Headers - not going to add what you are looking for..will be much louder, but without a cam or some method of improving flow internally probably won't do much.
Gears - no.. makes every gear shorter, the N/A's 0-60 numbers are low due to early shift points IMO.
Injectors, MAF, TB - not going to add power, just change throttle charicteristics.
ECU tune - will add some power, but not what you are looking for.
Cam - where are you getting one? I would imagine little to no gain unless you threw alot of lift and duration at it, punched out the heads and then got the headers.. then you lose vaccuum and drivability. My guess would be 300-315 with a bigger cam, headers and mild headwork.
The only way to keep up with a forced induction version of the same car is to add forced induction as far as I am concerned. Raising compression, a big cam and headwork are the traditional N/A mods, but if you want to run on

Just wondering.. are you starting to see some reasoning to the responses in "the other" thread?
5.1 seconds ! ive done most of those mods and my best time is 7 seconds flat.. 2004 model 55k..
doubt its my driving but you never know! whats your secret? could i have a faulty thing stopping my acceleration...
