If you haven't been following this thread, here is some history for you:

DJ, 06-10-2012 (aprox 330days ago)
A good week. Considerable progress. Again, I am answering w/o pictures.

I’ll try to get a picture album your way soon.
It looks like driving this thing might be within 10/15 days.

Squeeze, crossfingers, pray, all that sort of stuff. The first drive will be the biggest impression……. But surely not the last impression.
All the best,
Corky
DJ, 07-17-2012
A good week of progress. Tubes and details. Brackets to relocate hoses, etc.
One more tube to make and the pieces will be ready for powder coat.

It took one more iteration on the flow meter mount. I begin to feel inept at times.
Finally got the path looking like it fits in with the engine cover properly. Angles in a vertical plane were the fit that needed to look correct.
No crank up date yet, but toward the end of this week I should be able to make a decent guess.
Regards,
corky
This is the reply to my request for refund:11-08-2012
These are not short projects, and this one is complicated by two factors:
One; the need to meet the objective price has been a bit less than fun. We’ve more plumbing and pieces in this thing than some $5k systems, yet we have simplified enough items via sublet, and making one part do two things, yet keep the thing in the profit range and not take short cuts. Needless to say, it has been a good exercise for us with regard to simplicity and ease of fabrication. That does not imply fun, rather, just interesting.

Two; the cost to design, tool, make a proto and all the details of instructions drawings, parts lists ………….. is typically $20k. That, in itself is not the problem, rather the level of business this year has plummeted to the point where we do not have the reserves to support a swift and thorough development.
Present status; Oil return system to configure, half the fixtures to fabricate, surface finishes to apply, assembly and testing. Our internal estimate is another 40 hours, or three weeks.

Many details will be sorted on the second proto, as well as instructions and parts.
That vehicle should take us about six to eight weeks considering the present state of our cash.

I would like to wait until we are filling existing orders to make your refund. Yes, we are that tight. One fellow on the list sold his deposit to another. You might try that.

Please do not hesitate to email me directly. I’d be pleased to discuss any matter you choose.:
May I ask where you live? Regards,
Corky Bell

I just love that last line.. should have read "Gave away his deposit for a replacement car to avoid delays in the project"

And to think - I thought I wouldn't have enough time to recover from loaning those funds out...

And with only 2 weeks left until CF1 is finished, it's a hell of a deal.

I just hope they take pictures and notes for there "you can do it in a year" "we did the hard part for you" installation manual.

I just have this sneaky feeling they'll play hell getting a CF2

I would probably see a better return if I just went and spent $200 on a random stock or bond... assuming whatever company it is doesn't go bankrupt, I'd still have more to show for my money months, maybe years, down the road

just kidding, don't mean to be a downer... I'll buy your spot for $50 since I am sometimes a gambling man but that'd be about all of the risk I'd be willing to take haha

its just.. every time I see a front mount intercooler or hear a BOV, I have boost envy.

A derailed train in a tunnel does still have a working headlight! LOL.. in my email today.

We do not receive any proceeds from dyno day. We do it to support a former employee of ours who opened the dyno shop. We collect any money. Sorry…. We will refund deposits when the kit is done. Should not be much longer now.

At least this has "tones" of acceptance of screwing this up. Last one was just a little snooty..

Lordy , lordy,They have done some work on it. Pictures don't lie. Glad the Thanksgiving photos finally arrived.
I'm glad they finally posted them or else we wouldn't believe it. Still a little skeptical about this 2 week window for completion..based on history.

I agree on the skeptical part.. but at least it looks like the PUBLIC grilling on their facebook page has at least motivated them to do something. I was just a little to PO'd over this to be polite or politically correct as the thread started "scuse me sir... would you have an update"... no not this time..

Should have just sent you and that soap box over there 8 months ago!

Don't forget that Hardware is the easy part when dealling with modifying crossfires! At this rate the tune will take 4 years.

That kind of reflects back to some of our members having already (STS) installed turbo systems as a hobby line and didn't take this long. I just didn't realize a company invests thousands of dollars in cutting and welding 20ft of tubing. (since finances is the claimed hold up). And "we" as a group only gave them about 5 grand to do one Crossfire.

Lets take a holistic look at the time frame.
They have to send out and get back the parts from the PowderCoater. Time frame unknown
reassemble all the parts on CF1. Time frame unknown
Figure out how to Dyno and tune the Crossfire. Time frame unknown
then they have too find someone to give up their car for CF2.. For a time frame unknown
then they have to go through the process of fitting and powder coating and getting it to run all over again. Time frame unknown.
Then they have to make the kits and they have to send them out to be PowderCoated and packaged before they can ship them out to the customer. Time frame unknown
This is providing we can keep Corky healthy, it does not get too hot in Texas, no one screws off to get engaged, no oil pump goes missing, the cash flow remains consistent, no bread and butter jobs bump us to the back burner to collect dust. no one quits,..at this point I can only concur with your statements of four years.
It seems that there is a bit of a pattern when we get disgruntled, then comes a update with pictures or a bogus update of 10 to 15 days to completion. Pacification just doesn't carry the punch it used to, less people chasing the carrot on the stick.
Back on the soapbox once again.
