I see where Stephanie would prefer to answer E-Mails, well of course it's not as public as FB. Obviously they would rather keep this successful business private so others don't spot the failure to launch. You think since they befriended a photographer that has damn near taken over their FB page, they could recruit him to take pictures of a assembled and powder-coated system on the CF. Wonder what they are doing about the 2 + years gas in the car ? If Corky is the engineer and utmost authority on turbo and the guy that wrote the book, how come every time they give us a update they had to change something again and again. You think they would have had a plan or a vision that wouldn't have had to be changed all the time. I think these unrealistic costs arrive from being clueless of what they are doing.

BJames, any update on your system, it appears you are much farther along than Corky

Well here we are at the close of another business week. No updated photos, just the ones from way back when. A big thanks to the 2 members who gave us a update last week. Only information we have got in a long long time. E-mailed a week ago requesting my deposit back, like the updates, I haven't heard a thing.
It's not the $ 200.00 bucks but how many $ 200.00 bucks from people has Corky gotten away with. Some people are not going to take action on $ 200.00 bucks and Corky is depending on that I think.
maybe 2 weeks, 2 weeks.

Well, I can only say this, having been around car shops and truck shops my whole life. When a shop is struggling to keep the doors open and the lights on, they are only going to shell out just so much money. He admitted he took on a project that took too long and isn't going to be able to own up to making the kits and did state he would refund the deposits. I don't think that will happen quickly. It will happen from his profits if he is making any profits. Like it or not, it is a risk when you enter into these things. My losing money in one of these ventures was different in the fact that someone impersonated or lied about who they were and stole the whole build away from the original builders. At least here you are still dealing with the same guy. I think you will get your money back, but not anytime soon. It is just too bad and no winners. But, he could have just closed the doors, filed for bankruptcy. That he hasn't done. So that is a good thing. The only good thing so far. Good luck to you.

When I asked for my refund of my deposit, this is what I just received in my E-Mail. So does this mean they are making kits ?? Who knows. One tube to rebuild with their production record, this could be a years work. We have heard a lot of this before but we will see if they hold true on the refund. I'm a bit sceptical.

HI Bart,
I can understand (and share) your frustration. We do have the car running and ready for tuning. We do need to rebuild one tube on it, but all the other parts are done. If you still do not want the system after we are done with development, we will refund your deposit. Corky has instructed me to tell everyone we will be doing the refunds for cancellations then.
Regards,

Stephanie

My thought is "send photos or my deposit".

Well the final step is to send a tow truck, lawyer, and a sheriff.

get Corkys little shop of horrors. That might save someone else the money and frustration from a smooth-talking con artist.

DJ, is your car still there? Just curious how much time you gave them to finish and if you have seen any updates?

Well here we are at the close of another business week, no BS updates, no photos, no nothing. Been awhile, Maybe 2 more weeks, 2 more years, who knows. Now I know what he meant when I asked for my deposit back and he said I could get it back when the Turbo is complete.
There is "no" complete.

For some stupid reason I'm still hangin' in there. Here's the latest.

"
D.J.,
This has not been fun for either of us, but I now have a viable business once again.

Here is the situation:
The IRS tax bill is paid.
The property tax is almost up to date.
All sales taxes are paid.
The mortgage is redone.
I’ve changed all shop personnel.
Still no partner, but continuing discussions.

So, even though a few rough spots remain, we are back on the CF and will stay with it until it is completed. I will refrain from giving you any time estimates, as too many times I’ve been zapped with something that made me appear yet more foolish.

So it is written….

corky"

Thanks for the update DJ ! Honesty by them in this situation would have gone a long ways.

I just want to know once and for all the plan they have for tuning. They for sure as hell wont be able to re-code an SRT ECU for it so what could be the plan? Dimsport? Send it out? Take it for dyno tuning?

I'm wondering if they'll even be able to map the NA ECU enough to run right without the ability to read boost. Are they leaving the original MAP sensor in? Are they relocating it? What about the IAT sensor? Injectors?

The thing at this point is that this is what I'm doing with Bart and it's difficult as hell. Yeah it'll get done and running like a bat out of hell, but that's with me looking at the Mercedes drawn diagrams and parts catalog's straight from DAS, and knowing what I'm looking at.

Good luck DJ, remember a V8 is just a PM, weekend and paycheck away! LOL
