DJ, perhaps Corky is hinting that he wants YOU to be that 'partner' ????

Yes thanks for the update DJ, I was wondering what kind of song and dance he would come up with. I think you are playing this just right. Leave it there until he finishes up what you paid for. I know it's hard but I think the only way. Owe you a few drinks if we ever meet.
Shouldn't be long..here is a "cut and paste" bullshit- from a few months ago that says "a few days of work left"

Situation today:
I have less than half a day’s work to finish the construction of the third layout. A few more days to tune it out and it’s done.
The actual value in parts and labor I have spent on the project is now past $30k. I suspect that is more than you have invested in the CF.
Pee-ess two more weeks

I really should have moved down there and got a job when this started... $30k is one high dollar tubing cutter - welder job for 3 sets!

You don't need no damn tube cutter..you could use a dull Hacksaw on that thin- walled tubing to keep the costs down, you would have made a ton of money in the last 3 years.

I have a new and unique idea!
Has anybody ever thought of turbocharging their regular crossfire?! I think it would be a really swell idea! I can probably get my honda buddy down the street to tune it! Should be easy as pie, right?

Like I stated earlier...he could of just closed up shop, filed and walked away...leaving DJ a tow truck bill. But he hasn't. I have seen shops go belly up, and I have seen the employees up and leave over night and open a competing shop the very next week. It isn't fun owning a car repair shop. Or in this case a fab shop. I think the tuning will become the next issue. We shall see. DJ, we have met and had a drink, but you have shown great restraint. I think you will win in the end, but YOU COULD HAVE HAD a V-8......by now!

Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if it lasted a few more winters.

But I think it's time to bury this horse. Clearly DJ and Corky have some unfinished business, and those of you that have deposits filed and as yet unrefunded do too, but this charade is done and needs to be buried. Bart, It's time for you to seek legal counsel, or let your 2 bills go. I propose that as the reality for anyone vested in this process now.

I think that it's DJ's private nightmare now, and should be left to him and the lawyers. The Horse is dead and there is no need to eulogize it every week or two. I will check back in next spring and see if anything ever happened, and I suggest everyone else lower there expectations to the same.

DJ if anything ever happens will you let us know please?

I'd say corky has the advantage when it comes to seeking legal services to recover 200 bucks. I guess one could file a small claims and include expenses and time from work lost..

Well here we are at the close of another business week. No photos,no updates. That brings us to around 121 weeks into a 8 to 10 week build on Corkys Turbo build. That would be a 111 week overrun or a couple years give a month or two. Pathetic, so so sad. Maybe 2 more weeks.

ips in columbus oh. built a full twin turbo kit for the e55 v8 motor in less than 4 months. after a falling out with the owner over costs it was removed and buckhead imports bought the kit and it is now installed on craig hawkins e55 total time for the install, 2 days! tuning starts this week and the car should be road ready by the end of the week. so it can be done!

Well yeah, when you're using an ECU that can do something with boost lol. The turbo is actually somewhat similar to the SC in certain conditions too... Idle, no boost. No load, no boost.

I was just contacted by someone with an SLK55 AMG that put the 55K motor in and he's still using the original ECU for the 5.4 NA but tuned and it doesn't really work. It runs but he said it's lean as hell up top and rich as hell at idle. So sure, once he has a 55K ECU that I'm building for him it'll work great, because it'll actually do something under boost.

Another example is Bart's, same story, but the C32 ECU on an NA turbo requires quite a bit of modification to a good amount of things. I'm still drawing schematics and a new layout for sensors, its a B!TC*... But yeah, with an ECU that has the drivers and processor algorithms to adjust based off the MAP and IAT signals, it'll work.
