That being said, I wouldn't buy a turbo kit from Corky even if he paid me $3,500...

DJ - hopefully you're not holding your breath too much on the fast turn around on this new version!

So is there going to be a turbo kit still available at a higher cost? Or no kit at all?

It depends on how DJ's(tighed1) car turns out, if it ever does. He doesnt live far from me (about 20 mins) so Im sure he wouldnt mind showing off what the finished product looks like.

DisclosureDo not read if easily offended
Is this Corky f---ing kidding us, 2 1/2 years , endless Bullshit and this is what he comes up with??
What happened to the car running and just needing to be tuned. Did he look at the table full of crap and realise what we already saw? Does he need more cash from people to sustain his lifestyle?? So many questions and so little interest. Mighty big of him to dedicate a man to the project..we have heard that before, a few times.
2 to 3 hours a day doesn't sound too productive to me.
So he spent supposedly $ 30 K and 2 1/2 years on something he won't complete and can't put his name on and be proud of ?? Slow learner for the man claiming to be the utmost authority on "Turbochargers". We would have been better off to sent this project and our money to a bunch of Automotive shop kids. At least they would have completed it for their grade. Like he indicated we could get the deposits back at the end of the project if we didn't want the "kit" who knew there would be no end to the project. Long ways away but still can smell the bullshit this guy shovels. Maybe 2 years. Sigh..so much more to rant on and look forward to having another 2 years to do it..thanks Corky

You are a SAINT, DJ. Thank you for continuing to update all of us, even though I know it can not be easy for you to endure this. At least you still have an SRT or two to play with. Thanks again!

Newbie Chiming in. First off I read every page of both threads.( slow work day) LOL. Now that being said Tighed1 (dJ) Go get your car back, I gaurantee this Corky is a joke and I have yet to see any of his finished products that look qulaity at all. There website is nothing but *****. As far a s a manufactured Kit by a repuatable company we are all ***** out of luck.
Now to those Builder Tuners who have half a clue, and Mind you BEGI/Corky is not one of them by any means. You can fab up and tune a proper Turbo set up in a couple months with a welder, tubing and proper Turbo pieces. The tune as stated by others will take much more work but it appears is doable per Sk8erJosh.

So this being said Corky's business is a joke, my money and car would have been out of their 6 months into this bullshite let alone 2 + years. Patience is a understatement for DJ. Sir you will never get your car back w/o a Sheriff, this Corky is a fuhking joke.

Now being a bored fellow who read through all of this crap, Mods you really should just close this thread down and any related to it in the future b/c this is just a Trolls nightmare and nothing will ever come of this Turbo setup.Thats is all I got on a newbies perspective.

Unfortunately if we want boost it will have to come in the form of SRT6.

You know, as a newby, I do understand how you would see this. Having met DJ, I can tell he just seems to be the patient type, and he definitely is a car guy. Having been around a few builds in my time, I understand the time it takes to build something and do it right...ON THE SIDE... Not during normal business hours. But, I do think at this point, this thread is nothing more than, let's bash Corky thread and nothing more. I don't care to see a thread about 2 weeks anymore, it's old, nor is bashing a failed attempt to come up with a turbo for an N/A. Comparing it to a Jeep, build... Not even in the same ballpark. You have a ******* built car to begin with. Sorting it out may take a young gun like Josh, who enjoys the challenge. I like Josh and his accomplishments. But, Josh's overhead, isn't a payroll, taxes, building, and debt. Well, maybe debt...lol. It failed....period. Group buys fail. Parts for these cars fail. WE have a handful of successes and businesses that have delivered and we should appreciate them even more. But, and the big BUT is....who else has made this kit? And where is the $3500.00 Kit? I am not seeing it. So, close this thread. Not sure why I resurrected it. Putting some one down, and name calling isn't going to get you a kit. I am glad he is going to finish the project for DJ, as he should, but my middle finger would be up at this point after that build. Promises or not promises. Money refunded or not refunded. **** happens gentlemen. Not every one is perfect. He isn't the first one to promise us things and failed because he opened his mouth before thinking. I guess that is why I appreciate Rob, and Rudy so much. They do their testing and tuning and building. We don't see the finished product until they have perfected the product, as it should be.....THEN we can get all excited. Close this thread mods...DJ can enlighten us when he gets his car done...in two weeks or two years...that's his business, not ours.

There are others with skin in this game, how many are waiting for their refunds? That is why I don't jump in on group buys. I rather wait for the result than wait for my money back. Bob (Lantana) was looking for someone to visit BEGI , it was my Crossfire that Corky looked at for clearance and took a ride in John's (Xalidin) car. I was impressed with Corky's knowledge and his book but not impressed with how disorganized the shop looked. I had a bad feeling about getting any more involved, let alone putting up money.

Not to even get back on that subject Bill. My uncle, now deceased with stationed where you were in those same years. He did 3 tours, last one as a Marine medic. He retired a Master Chief. He was a medic. His name was Bernie Ray Watts. Of course, if you visited him, well, you might have been visiting the wrong place in town....lol
As for the thread, I hate what happened as well, but it is a risk, and I have lost money on these little adventures as well. But, we are beating a dead horse. Just glad DJ will get something, but that is his gig now. We aren't getting any updates, and in fact looks to be a dead end project except for DJ. To me, if I'm getting beat up, I might be slow at giving refunds if I gave any at all. Especially if my business is failing. Survival will kick in...but, down the road, he may makes things right. You just never know about people's character.

Why close the thread, the car is still out there, deposits still out there. Don't like it, don't read it. I think the negative comments toward Corky have stayed in this thread and not polluted the rest of the forum. Negative comments wouldn't be there is he hadn't made false promises, taken members deposit for cash flow while the Crossfire sat there and collected dust. Statements like the car should be running in 10 to 15 days, just to see pictures a year and a half later of junk was dishonest. Cars up and running , just to find out it had been junked, is dishonest. Statements of "2 weeks, 2 weeks' were started by Corky not us. I'm tired of hearing " Having been around a few builds in my time" so I don't read it. 5 year old with a lemonade stand could run a better business. Hats off to anyone that honestly tries something and fails. And I did say honestly.
Don't like it don't read it. No need to close the thread that might help someone else see what this guy is all about and not get sucked in with his big talk.

Works both ways. Don't read my responses if you don't like it. Posting two weeks just to keep the thread alive. I think dan root was a lying crook as well but after awhile you let the thread die. If dan or this guy tries to market anything here i am sure we can warn others at that time. You aren't getting a turbo. Hopefully when the guy gets back on his feet he will refund the money. On the other hand if someone out there is constantly trying to keep him out of business, then you are screwed. I think you are screwed either way at this point.

I'm all for keeping the thread open so that if / when DJ gets his back, we'll know about it. Sure, the thread isn't really going anywhere other than that, but until we see photos of the turbo installed, even if Corky doesn't touch another Crossfire in his life, at least we'll have some small victory in that.
