Default New battery installed and...

Was having issues with the alarm suddenly going off, fin going up and down, lights flashing etc, all while parked in the driveway. Finally ran the battery down. Replaced the battery with a new one. Now doors wont unlock, trunk wont open, top wont go down and parking lights wont go off, among other strange things, Unhooked the alarm and had to disconnect the battery because something keeps draining it. Any suggestions on where to start first?

Does the alarm still go off?
Can you list everything that is happening, do not skip anything.
There is a module in the trunk that controls the locks, do you have water in the trunk, especially under the passenger side foam block under the trunk mat.

With the car engine off and the key out can you check by using a voltmeter or 12v bulb which fuse socket, if any, has power going through it?

Yes the alarm still goes off if I do not disable the battery. Neither door will unlock, console wont open, windows will not go down, top will not go down, trunk will not open, parking lights will not go off and the tow light is on. Already used a volt meter.
Thanks

Crawl under the rear of the car with a straight edge razor and slice a really thin cut through the middle of the passenger side rubber plug in that bulge (cavity if you were able to open the trunk and get down there) below the trunk opposite where the tire fix/jack storage is. There is (if I remember correctly) one rubber plug on each side. They are located close to the area where the rear axles/differential sits on the bottom. The one you want to check (first) for water in it is the passenger side. If you slice through that rubber plug, and water comes flowing out (you might have to spread that sliced rubber plug center), you found your problem. If it has been quite a while since it rained (or you washed the car which got a lot of water in there), the damage may still be there but not as obvious. Water intrusion into that well/cavity gets into the central security/locking module and it plays all he11 with things.

Guess a person could use a syringe ... feed store supply or diabetes type.. to pierce the plug and check for water..? Don't know just how tought that plug is myself.. but it would make for minimal invasion - damage to check..

Well the OP replied but gave nothing new to go on except he used a voltmeter. What the results were I/we can only guess and as I have lost my crystal ball I can't see into the past or future. I do foresee this thread going nowhere though.

Did this today and the module was sitting in water. Some of the wires were rusted and broke off. Dried it and put it back in.Now the top works and the fin. I'm assuming I need to replace this module now. What is this part called?

Water was in the well cavity. Drained water and used hose pipe to find leak. None found. I think it was probably a leak in the back window before the new top was put on in August. Installed part, Central Locking Pump module and everythng works except for the high beam headlights.Thank you for your help and also for saving me a lot of money!!.

On the MB forums it is suggested that the pump module be placed in a plastic bag, or the plug in the floor pan is left out.

The extreme measure suggested is to put the pump in upside down if the cables allow it.
That's why Australians never have this problem.

No thanks neccessary, we're all here for each other I am glad it was the right fix. Pay it forward, its what we all try to do here. I am sorry I don't have a clue about the high beam thing though. I can only hope you did check the fuzes related to the high beams and its power feeds to the lamp control module left front dash between the door and dash (open door its right there behind headlight switch). Good luck, at least you can get back to your permagrinings!
