Default Please help me identify a part

I'm working on researching/collecting info for a 6 spd conversion and believe I have everything EXCEPT for 1 item! I have seen it once or twice in exploded diagrams but no p/n and once online but the add was for a whole transmission.

The part in question is a black bracket that the 2 feet of the shifter appear to connect to for shifter mounting here is a link for a visual: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2004-2008-C...ry!23002!US!-1

next question how does it mount to the car?

does it direct mount to the body or connect to 2 other brackets direct mounted to the body? lastly, does it top mount, inside or bottom mount underneath?

If I could get an identity and/or a p/n I would be most thankful.

I did not understand the question, if he meant the black item under the shifter or something two feet away. If it is shown he should say so and not leave people guessing. PIf it is the black item the part number should be easy to find. Buying it from a dealer would be expensive, best try a wrecker.
See attachment. Is it item #8?

no it is not #8. to me #8 looks like the mounting of the shifter to the shifter frame.

I left a link which should go to an ebay auction containing it.

it's the frontal mounting point for the shifter assembly. "feet" mounting flanges, whatever they are called.....on your diagram they are the things that #12 attach to but not pictured is the black bracket.

if you click the link it is the only black bracket in the picture.

The black item in this photo then.
Could this be it? All sorts of brackets in the diagram attached to this item.
