Engine, Exhaust, Transmission and DifferentialPost questions here that have to do with the engine, cooling system, air intake, exhaust, Transmission and Differential
Upon returning from vacation, I found a puddle of oil on the garage floor under the transmission. The Crossfire (SRT6) had been sitting for roughly five weeks. I am not sure where it is coming from. The oil has an orange tint to it. I have attached a couple of images which show the locations of the dripping (circled in red and then blue). I do not believe that there is a dip stick for checking the transmission oil. Not sure what the thought process was there (?). Interested in the group's thoughts on potential sources for the leak. I suspect a transmission gasket of some sort - but that is just a guess. As I post this...it almost looks like motor oil, but it is dripping directly under the transmission.
Thank you James for pointing me in the right direction. I will have to pull out my ramps again and take a closer look at the source of the leak. This forum continues to be a a huge asset. I will follow-up when I confirm my problem.

Duke, That looks like oil to me. If it is trans fluid you should change the fluid also while doing the DIY fix. One thing I would do is pull the two black rubber plugs in center of your picture. Check for oil residue in there. To me it looks like oil could be seeping from them. If there is an oil overfill it will kick out there.
Turns out my leak was the transmission connector O rings. I took it to a local shop for a transmission oil and filter replacement. First time for this car... 42,500 miles.

The original ATF for these cars, when used, looks just like that. It is not blood red like regular ATF. Pentosin when new looks like a good clean engine oil.
