Default MAF & Secondary air pump codes - I've tried everything!

Hi, desperate for help, but if a long list if what I've done but I'm at a complete loss..

So a week ago I got a check engine light, car was idling low and loss of power for the initial second you put your foot down to pull off.. Codes P0410 & P0102.. I went straight online, read everything on the forums about the usual issues, watched you tube videos how to check, what to check and what to change.. So...

I took out the MAF, it's perfectly clean but still have it a ckean/spray with MAF cleaner, back in, checked seals etc, can't hear and leaks?

I checked the voltage going to it 5v/12v and also voltage to the secondary air pump is good too..

Checked air valve intakes, all clean fuse fine, relays look brand new (cars only done 80,000) I've replaced the pump with a tested one from a breakers, I can hear it working fine on start up.

I've replaced my top cover /air box as one side was broken, thought this would explain lack of aur to MAF, mine has the double cone induction kit on it..

After all that, the car is worse than ever, cut out on my twice at traffic lights today and in cold start up in the morning as soon as the secondary air pump stops as it should, I get about a minute of white smoke out the exhaust (powerflow exhaust fitted)

I can't find anything else, anyone know? There were 2 pending codes, not current which were P0151/P0133, both are O2 sensors.. Could they be causing all this trouble? I just can't understand how it's got worse the more I've skirted and checked, really need my car fir work bad can't get it in a garage for 2 weeks 🤯🤯🤯

Given what you have already checked, I would suspect an air leak from a hose. Are you sure the gasket on the air box cover is intact and sitting correctly on the MAF housing? IF this isn't the issue this forum is the best source for if you can do the work yourself. Check these links: (P0102 Chrysler Code Meaning, Causes, Symptoms, & Tech Notes (engine-codes.com)) & (P0102 Chrysler Code Meaning, Causes, Symptoms, & Tech Notes (engine-codes.com)). Hope this helps. Good luck!

Yeh that seal is perfect round the MAF, tight seal and sat on well, this is the kit that was on the car when I got it.. Car was running perfect on it for a good 5 weeks and say 300 plus miles.. There no leaks between the cones and the MAF however I've just read I need to seal the empty air boxes with sealer? Is this because there's no air filter in it, would that alone cause it to run that badly.. If so I'm off to b&q 🤣🤣

Cover not on I know but photo just to show induction kit

Interesting Q, If you have a doubt, gut two filters and lay the gasket from them in the track for the filters and reassemble. Tell you the truth, using under hood air makes this a HAI (hot air intake) since the engine bay heat is much hotter than the air from the front behind the grill. Up to you but I would extend them out of the engine bay. Good luck!

Yeh I've been reading about that as I've gone along and already thought about putting it back to original! Thanks.. I'll try the seal as I've got two old ones that came in the replacement air box.. Cheers..

Those two codes are a result of the air/fuel mixture not being correct as it relates to the P0410 and the P0102 codes. The are set by the two upstream O2 sensors. They are not causing your problem. It would seem prudent to return to the original air intake system as from the factory with new air box filters, ( as GraphiteGhost suggest ) clear all the codes and start anew. Air leaking into the air box from the lack of filters and their seals could definitely be the cause of your problems.
Generally speaking the code P0410 is corrected by replacement of the Rely Control Module (RCM) and at 80,000 km that would be within a normal time frame for failure. Many of us travel with a spare RCM in the glove box.

Yeh they were only pending codes and I assumed just showing due to the mix /lack of aur flow problem causing the MAF code..

I've changed the air pump and checked RCM, it's like new, seems that may if already been done recently, I need to clear the codes to see if that one comes back on but hopefully that ones been solved, I've just cut the seals off some old air filters so going to stick them in when the rain stops later and go out and see.. I've got an obd2 coming g tomorrow as I'm not paying to switch off the come back on again... Definitely going to order some original air hoses and put it back too.. Cheers 😊

Ok update 🤯🤯🤯 cleared codes after putting the rubber seal off the air filters in (paper removed) no engine light for 10 Miles car still a bit jerky.. Came back on codes have now changed.

The P0410 is now just a pending code not current so hopefully that's solved by new pump but being affected by the other issue?

New current code is P0101.. Any ideas, do I replace the MAF and see, I've put fuel cleaner in the tank incase anything like that or the CAT is dirty hoping that could help... The P0102 code has gone completely off the diagnostics, this is now the only current code.. MAF air flow out of parameters???? Help!

Progress; Now get back to the correct filters and air intakes that are forward of the radiator. Then clear all those codes and see what that gets you. As it is now you are sucking in dirty hot air.
It may take a couple driving cycles for the PCM to get back to it's correct parameters.

I've got a set of original hoses and the MAF coming from chrysler breakers, be here Wednesday, just need to order new filters this afternoon.. I'm really hoping that does it 🤞🤞..
I have still got the foam cones on so air shouldn't be dirty.. Just hot I guess 🤔

Have you cleaned the foam cones? They could be dirty and clogged and you wouldn't know it. That would restrict airflow.

Ok.. MAF changed, induction kit off, original air hoses on, new filters .. Codes off, battery off 📴 for half hour... Test drive, drum roll..... I think it's fixed 🤞🤞 no rev drops, pulls fine, even the exhaust sounds throaty again 🙌🙌 and no check engine light back on yet..

Thank you all.. Let's hope it's the same tomorrow 😂😂

Great! Keep up your maintenance, always using the correct fluids (you can download the owners manual from this forum if you don't have one) and enjoy the ride.
