rear wheel sensors axle swap differential
hello everyone I doing a differential swap on my 2005 NA , I adapted a super 8.8 differential and custom axles from DSS , the axles could not adapt the abs rings ! this is where i need some help? could the rear wheel sensors be wired to the front wheel sensors to fool the abs controler ? if so has anyone done this ? any ideas ? need help
1) At the CAB connector, within a foot of the connector, splice the wires to the front left wheel with the wires to the rear left wheel.
2) At the CAB connector, do the same with the wires to the front right and rear right.
3) DO NOT leave the wires running to the rear wheel connectors connected, disconnect them at C201 as shown.
I am pretty sure this is a profoundly bad idea, but I would like to see if it works. The screen shot below is fuzzy, download the service manual and go to the page indicated, you will get it.
This can't possibly work, but try it.

I just finished putting a HAG215 in the car, and I thought THAT was a difficult project. I've had DSS axles in multiple vehicles. I am surprised that they could not adapt it. As for the ABS sensors, I cannot imagine that you will get the ESP to play nice splicing the signal wires in. It might work, but I sincerely doubt it. The ESP is one of the "smarter" modules in the car, and being safety related, it will trip a fault code over the most minor issue. As Mark said, if you do it, make sure to unplug the rear sensors.
Separately, please do post up pics of this swap. This kind of mixing of parts and fabrication is right up my alley, so I'd like to see how you approached it. Thanks!

I'd have to go back and look, but I think there are 40 notches in the CF tone wheel. As long as you can get close to that, adjustments in the computer for tire sizes will likely be the way to go to fudge it to get it to read right.
DSS did not do the ones on this car, but I have had them on older turbo Dodges and SRT4s. I called DSS and essentially they did not want my business, by quoting an absolutely astronomical amount to build a pair of axles for this car. So instead, I made my own hybrid axles from a Crossfire axle and a Dodge Charger axle.

Nemiro have you looked into dodge charger wheel hubs as a swap for a larger spline count ? The ABS system and 25 count spline has been the pain in the butt.

The closest I have found so far are newer MB hubs. They are the right spline (27, IIRC). However, they use 14mm wheel bolts, which I have not tried with the CF wheels. However, if those were to work, then the whole axle problem starts to get pretty simple, pretty fast. I just have yet to order some.

Yikes... 25 spline is incredibly small, and I'm guessing you wouldn't have enough room in the hub to go to a 32 or 33 spline. On top of that, it's not just the spline count that you have to deal with; It's how the outer stub flange interfaces with the wheel hub and knuckle assembly, as well as any ABS requirements... I'm afraid we're not currently in a position to help out with something like that
You may have to parts bin engineer this, with CF outer joints. I used an aftermarket brand of axles, by buying 2x CF axles, and 2x of Charger/Challenger/LX axles, and shopped by specification to get the length I thought I'd need, and then disassembled, swapped parts around until I got what I needed. Tedious, but it worked. I cannot stress enough, use the same brand, as they will tend to stick to common items that can be swapped between joints.

I don't understand why u would go to that expense when we have a Mercedes and or a Dodge rear pumpkin, in 2.89,, 3.07,,327,,3.45 ,,3.69 and 3.90 all are a bolt in and reprogram your Tcu (no tcu needed with stick shift),, for 10 years , I ran my first V8 with 575 hp at the rear wheels over 600 runs down the 1/4 mile no breakage just drive 55 miles to the track get 3 to 5 runs in the 10's best was 10.55 @ 132 all for less than $3000 rear end including a wavetrac the best rear is the 3.45 ,,,in my srt6 I just ran 12.008 @ 114 with open rear and street tires jim
What i found is the C63 C250-C350 E350-550 sl550 , But I see they use 4bolt bearing mount so its hard to tell if its the same O.D on hub. If its the same spline and size as the older dodge 27 spline the game gets little easer ?
