Default Engine quit running while driving

Happened yesterday. Driving along and suddenly, the engine stops running. Safely pulled over and would not start, not even clicking or starting sound. After about 10 minutes looking at the fuses, I get back in and it started. Had something like this happen on my previous MB SLK320 which is the base for the Crossfire. The cause was the main relay needed replacing. Would this be the right solution in this case?

Yes. It's the same module, same part number as the SLK in fact.

Thanks for the quick response! Can you recommend a place to order it from? The St(d)ealers want a hefty price.

If you want to
get your relay control module refurbished, email tighed1@hotmail.com for the details. Cost is about a third of the price of a new RCM.

The CPS will make the car stall but the the car will crank right away and not start for a short time after it stalls
but then will typically start again within about 20 minutes

There in a "main relay" on our RCM

If you replace it I recommend having the old one rebuilt for a spare.

Thank you!. Just want to confirm the part number per the parts catalog on the site; is it 05099007AA (Relay Engin Management (Fuel Pump)?

Most likely your issue is the Crankshaft position sensor and part number is: BOSCH 0261210170

The RCM part number is Mercedes:
1705450305 (The Chrysler version will be more expensive)

I would strongly suggest you never ask for a Chrysler part number for the drivetrain Mercedes Benz marked parts. You will get conflicting answers and if you find them, they WILL be on a BIG margin higher then the same M Benz identical part.

Great advice! I ordered the part via my mechanic who took care of my SLK320 before it was totaled. He agreed, use MB parts only for the Crossfire where possible.

Now that u have a new K40/ mercedes// RCM chrysler calls it your old RCM, don't even think of repairing it or letting your mechanic do it send it to tighed1@hotmail.com
look at post 6 he is the only one that knows the rcm better than anyone, i know of two shops that rebuild them and they fail, i bought the two and sent to TJ got them back
went to the shop they had the crossfire there ,all the wires under the hood were hanging over the finders,, I ask the mech if this was the same crossfire as 3 weeks ago he said yes i said i have a rebuilt rcm would you try it,,, the car started first time in 3 months that shop i sold them the rcm , now when they get a crossfire in they call me.
