Default Alarm fault

Can anyone help

I had a problem with the alarm going off for no reason. The dealer had it in and charged the battery saying it was slightly down. I took no chances and changed the battery. I still have the same problem. Iv just noticed that the little red light in the roof near the mirror is staying on after the engine is switched off. Pressing it does nothing,it just stays on. The only time it goes out is when the engine is running. May be this is the reason for the battery drain. Does anyone know how to reset the alarm or is this some thing else?

Help
Jon

Hi Jon Sadly no idea re the alarm fault. Did the main dealer have any thoughts re the problem? Maybe contact another main Chysler garage and ask the question again.

Hope to touch base soon.

Cheers

Ken.

Hi Jon,
Isn't the little red light supposed to go out after a few seconds, indicating that the device (for remotely opening garage door or electric gates) is ready to use. There is something in the handbook about setting it up I think. The light is very small (like the flashing flashing alarm light) and shouldnt drain the battery. If its faulty and staying on; it could interfere with the alarm, so njust disconect it by prizing off the panel and pulling the wires, and see if that cracks it!
Good luck!

Hi Steve. How's things with you?

Its this little red light that's staying on. I think the ones in front of that are the garage door opening one?

Hi Jon,
Its a strange one, I cant think what could cause it to stay on, unless there is some kind of reset you can do. Have you checke3d out the hand book yet?
I will check it out on mine when I get the car back, its having major surgery at the moment and expect to get it back later this week!
Cheers,
Steve

Hi Steve.

I forgot about yours. How's that getting on?

Just to rub a bit of salt in the wound, it looks like some one has thrown a brick at mine. I now have two dents in the roof to repair. Great!!!!!!!!

I will take a look in my hand today.

Thanks
Jon

Jon - Im calling on my repairer on Tuesday to see progress, as you well know, the suspension rebuild is a quick job, and its the paint that takes the time. Hoping to get it back by the weekend, but Im not rushing it as Ive got a builders skip on the driveway at the moment cos of some building work at home, so not much room. Looks like you have some dents to fix as well!

Cheers - Steve
