Last time I was on the 401, I saw a cop Go sliding through the median doing a u-turn so he could race over and pull someone over. Half of the grass he turned up ended up on the Easbound lanes, and he BRUTALLY cut off some lady in a minivan, who almost got rear-ended!
Good to know they are looking out for our safety!

My local police are doing work pressure tactics and dressed in army fatigues and stopping everyone for any stupid infraction to intentinally plug up the court system.Think they watched a little too many episodes of Miami Vice...

With that said - windshield tint darker then 40% will give you visual problems at night - I did mention it can be pretty dark looking out my side windows (15%) at night in dark areas (If there are street lights - It's no problem)
The real reason for prohibiting windshield tint is red light cameras - they can't get a good picture of you when you run the red light.

i just got my front did it is 35 percent sides and back are 15 percent. it looks nice the only problem i'm having is at night the lights of other cars are a little blury from the front windshield. i dont know if that's because i had just got it tinted or what anyone else with this problem.

They now have Kangaroo traffic court in BC where some JP finds you guilty regardless...I went to court with my son over a speeding ticket...They didnt get the make of car right. The officer did not have to be present. A fill in court cop pleased the cops story. He outright lied about where he clocked my son. I know because I pulled over in my car to let him catch up after stopping for light. The road has many curves and the cop lost sight several times...The JP says nope the road is Str8 and there is only one curve at the end b-4 the bridge. After being convicted you have the option to appeal which has been privatised and will cost you $175 or more for the priveledge of defending yourself in a real court before a real Judge... The law has become a pathetic gong show and is designed only to tax you at every chance. The latest is a Ghost truck with an N (new driver sign).
Red light cameras do nothing to prevent the running of the light...It just catches you after the fact. A drunk could run the entire length of the city and kill someone on the other side, and all the light cameras in the world would have done nothing to prevent it...Take the officer off the hwy and place him at a traffic light...That prevents accidents.
BTW my son just got pulled over for a speeding ticket and they nabbed him for the side window tint...Get this, you have to get the tint removed then pay to have your car inspected. Cha Ching!

[/quote] Yes as former Ontarian I know what that stands for...LOL
Here in kelowna it's the same thing...They blatantly break traffic laws while on patrol. Turning lef out of the right turn lane etc. I blasted a cop last summer that pulled that move...I told him he's no more important than me and he can wait his turn like the rest of us...I said if I pulled that move you'd be all over me...He just looked and said nothing.

The real reason for limited tint on the driver's side, passenger side and no tint on windshields? It's for your police officer's safety. In the mid 80's during a few traffic stops around the country officers were shot approaching heavily tinted windows, and the reason the officers never saw it coming was the tint. They then made laws limiting the available tint on windows so that when an officer approaches you he can see you and what you are doing.
I know this because one of my father's deputies was a victim of this when I was a kid (early to mid 80's, don't remember the exact date cause I was so young). He was a good man and had a family. It was a simple "hey mister, your break lights aren't working, go fix em" stop that ended up ending his life and ruining his family's life. Funny thing is my father has a rule with his deputies that they don't do traffic stops. He said that is what city cops and highway patrols are for...his deputies are reserved for criminal investigation etc. The one exception to this...when safety is a concern (ie, 120 mph will get their attention, or breaklights not working).
Needless to say my father was a huge proponent of the tint laws in texas when they were being drafted.

Well I just did the tints and I did 35 on the sides and rear and 50 on the front... I like it alot and am very happy I did not go any darker because it does hinder visibility regardless of what anyone says... its only logical... light creates visiblity and tint limits light therefor limiting visibility...
that does not sound right at all to me... I just had my windsheild done with 50% tint... althought it is much brighter than 35% it has created no bluriness and my sides and rear have been done in 35% and yet... it has created absolutely no blur...

Seriously, do you think I run red lights or did you just feel the need to make some **** remark? - I never said I tinted my windshield so I could get away with running red lights.
