Default Electrical nightmare

I have a 2004 Coup. I have to open the driver's or pass. door to adjust my seats, I have replaced headlights by the dozen, now the only headlights I have that are working are the brights. Not a bulb problem its electrical or whatever problem. Anyone with similar issues? Any work arounds to fix this problem? Thanks.
P.S. Love the Car.

Have your charging system checked. If it's overcharging the system that could explain the headlight problem.
Autozone, Checker will check the system for free.

I had a friend that I tutored for awhile in the 70's. I was helping him study for an electronics exam when he mentioned that "I can't keep lights in this jeep" and said, "Batteries sure don't last anymore, do they"?

I measured his battery voltage with the engine off and it was just over 14 volts - a little high, but whatever.

He started the engine - I measured over 17 volts at the battery! I told him his voltage regulator was bad.

He put a garage put on a new alternator - problems solved! (Those alternators had the voltage regulator built in, as most do these days.)

Not sure what is up with your seats.

Thanks for the info - my headlights stopped working last night, would not come on this morning, although the brights do work. I'll have the charging system checked.

WOW!
Thanks for searching and finding a (possible) solution!

Sure would have been nice if blaispi had replied if he resolved his problem.

I have to open my door to adjust the seat, I think that it is a safety feature.

From the Shop Manual
OPERATION The power seat lower switch adjusts the bottom portion of the seat forward and backward as well as tilting upward and downward both in the front and rear when the switch is pressed in that direction. The back portion of the seat reclines when the power seat rear switch is tilted forward or rearward. The driver side power seat switches are operational with the driver door open, regardless of the ignition switch key position. If the driver door is closed, the ignition switch key must be turned to the ON/RUN position. See the owner’s manual in the glove box for more information.
My owners manual does not mention any of the above details.
Blowing bulbs all the time is commonly a voltage regulator problem as mentioned by PizzaGuy.
The voltage regulator is bolted to the back of the generator (that's what it's called in the shop Manual) and it is replaceable on it's own.

I had my charging system checked out today - no problem. Both bulbs were burned out. In all of my years of driving (43 years), I never had both headlights go out simultaneously, these were both new in September. At this point it a relief it was not something more serious, guess I should keep spare bulbs in the car.
