Simpleton's view: Could be the on/off for your charger/usb port, whatever cable is in the pic. Tried?

If not, it is the switch as (Sacha B. Cohen /Ali G/ Borat) would say,

"Your car is equipped with a P*ss* Magnet!!!!"

Had a swith a switch just like it, in the same location, to deactivate the emergency brake control for my in-dash GPS/stereo unit.

It's amazing how much entertainment a toggle can generate! That switch location would be ideal for shutting off a hard wired radar detector.
