Absolutly captavating Mark. Thanks for sharing. It was fun trying to guess the locations b4 reading the captions. Can you imagine the thrill of that ride?

Absolutely breathtaking.

As one of the 'nauts put it: Earth "is a raging explosion of life in a vast sea of darkness".

Everyone: Yer welcome.

BigKid:

Yea, I used to think the thrill of space travel was the launch. Maybe it is... but the VIEW ranks right up there, too.

I admit it DOES strike me that life, other than the life in the sea (or underground - which probably does not go that deep) is found within the few miles of atmosphere on ONE planet in the solar system - not likely anywhere else in this solar system.

We are a sea of life in an ocean of, well, unliving "stuff".

Space travel has fascinated me since the days of Apollo - I was 9 when they landed first on the moon and I have waited almost 40 years to get my questions answered about how they did it, what it was like, etc.

This should be fun, just joined:

Four posts and I already have a moderator warning under my belt.

(No, the site is not a joke - THAT has been explained to me in no uncertain terms.)
