Default Brilliant Forum

I just want to say this forum is brilliant and the members are awesome. I have only owned my car 6 months but so far I have ....

1. Repaired a sticky ignition switch at no cost, and possibly saved hundreds if it got stuck.

2. Stopped my wing coming up at start up by replacing the battery, would never have suspected that without this forum.

3. Solved the ESP light problem by actually disconnecting the battery first to reset, it would only reset for a few days by do the steering wheel thing until I disconnected the battery and reset it again.

4. Solved my Engine Management Light intermittently coming on due to a burnt relay, (filed for now and no problem since) Cost of repair $3 for a new relay plus postage, currently on its way to me.

5. Ordered Crossfire Emblems that look great.

6. Purchased door handle covers from someone suggestion as the coating was cracking on mine, and they look great.

7. Purchased a OBD for just $15 and now have access to future fault codes. I maybe would have gone to a garage to get this info, now I can get it myself.

8. Fitted a keyless entry tone for $5.

I recon I have saved hundreds and hundreds of dollars in diagnosis, repairs and maintenance all for simple silly little things. Well done everyone and its great being a member.

And now instead of driving an outdated car with annoying issues you can have a blast just enjoying it.

I didn't get mine from ebay I actually got mine made to measure.

If you look here and scroll down you will see a photo that I posted of the finished item and I believe they were only $50-60 delivered to Oz. If you scroll a little more down you will also see a photo of the measurements I sent to the company.

Should have mentioned that whilst the Corvette ones were good I felt they were a bit too short, but thats just my view.

This has been mentioned before on this forum by someone, that at if they're not real bad and just starting to present a sharp edge. take some very fine wet/dry sanding paper, and run it back and forth on the seam in back of the handle. You can't see any sandpaper etchings because its in back of the handle, and smoothed out the sharpies.

Here's what I mean about made to measure, however mine are probably double the price to the other type.

Yeah that's them in the Ebay link. Was at a biker cancer fund raiser..right after I got my Avalanche.. and thought..time to personalize the truck.. so I had the guy running the fundraiser do it on the tail gate.. and actually won a "door prize" raffle for $30 pin striping.. LOL. So took my crossie up..told him a little on back and on hood.. put whatever you see in these colors.. He's old school hot rodder.. LOL.
